9 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗱. All the other employees quit after that. His wife (also the co-founder) and I remained. She was grieving, that’s understandable, but I didn't have time to grieve. I kept thinking about how to keep the organization alive. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀. We'd make lots of money, celebrate, and be in financial trouble again in a few months. Put this on repeat. We couldn't continue the rags-to-riches cycle forever, so I discovered and implemented new business systems. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱: 1. Creating a monthly revenue target. 2. Organizing a promotional calendar to achieve these targets. 3. Building courses which our customers had long demanded. 4. Investing in learning new marketing strategies. After a few years, we were finally on a good footing, and last year, we made more money than we had ever made. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱: When the worst things happen, you have two options: Give up. OR Change things for the better. I chose to rise up.
