This video reminded me of an online coaching client I had She was 64 struggling with her weight ~50 lbs over weight. Feeling stuck and frustrated she couldn’t lose weight She had tried everything! But she was much like the little girl in the video. She couldn’t seem to get the next step right. But she was soooooo close. Many of you are there. You are actually supper close to taking off on your health journey but you just can’t seem to get it right. All she needed was a “push start” with a little bit of guidance on her next step We started working together and in 4-5 months she had lost 20 lbs without much struggle. And she was off to the races. She was soo shocked it didn’t even feel like she was trying on her “ diet. “ So here’s your “push start” - drink: water, yes mostly water. 3 water bottles a day works wonders. Yes, you can still have your teas and coffee as well. If you are addicted to soda, diet pop is fine as a healthy alternative to start with and slowly wean off. - eat : foods high in protein low in calories such as— chicken, fish, turkey, tofu, steak, lamb, shrimp, tuna,eggs. This will make you feel full longer and faster. - think before you eat: be mindful. Everything you eat counts. Look at the food labels (not to freak out and obsess about it) but to learn what you are eating. How often you eat. Check and see why you are eating. Is it cravings? Hunger? Or habit? We all eat for several reasons. Food is all around us and readily accessible. Learning about why we eat is important. Mindless eating everything we see is one part of the epidemic of obesity. - move more: move often , try to reach 7,500-10,000 steps a day. Get 20 mins of cardio daily, lift 2-3x a week, get up from your desk and stretch, walk on your lunch break, find ways to get active. It will take effort. And if needed ask for help, join an exercise class, or get a workout buddy. You may need to park farther, take the stairs, or walk and talk. But your body will feel better. This sound simple but 5-10 lbs can easily come off with these simple steps when done consistently for months. It wont happen over night You don’t need to add a waist trainer Or spend $1,000 on “fat burning pills” Focus on consistency and keep going :) #healthandwellness #healthandwellbeing #healthbenefits #healthjourney #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #cancerprevention #healthylivingtips
