One month from today, I will be in Denver presenting at the SHRM Inclusion conference. I will not be there as a SHRM-SCP or as a consultant-advisor; I'm going as a workplace investor and futurist who cares about the future of work and the success of your employees. Inclusion is a strategic imperative. It's not about politics or human rights; it is both a human and financial competitive must-have. Inclusion increases employee retention, engagement, and well-being and creates an environment where all employees can speak up to share their most innovative ideas and identify problems. If building an inclusive culture isn't one of your top priorities for 2025, you are leaving a lot of money on the table. 🤷♀️ I will be sharing why DEI is in the Gartner Hype Cycle's Trough of Disillusionment (spoiler alert: ALL initiatives go through this phase), but more importantly, I will share the five steps we can take to accelerate out of it and reach the Plateau of Productivity faster than is currently projected. (PSA: some of these steps are fairly radical, so please show up open-minded!) This is THEE conference to attend if you're in DEI or a business and people leader who knows that Inclusion is imperative for the future of work. I look forward to meeting you there or seeing you virtually. #shrminclusion2024 #inclusion

The foundation of a thriving organization lies in its commitment to inclusion. An Inclusion Charter is more than just a document; it’s a strategic blueprint that articulates your organization’s pledge to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at every level. Incorporating an Inclusion Charter means setting clear expectations, holding leaders accountable, and ensuring that all employees—from various backgrounds and perspectives—have equal access to opportunities. This charter not only fosters a culture of belonging but also propels innovation by leveraging diverse viewpoints. Companies that actively embrace inclusion see measurable improvements in employee engagement, productivity, and retention. Don’t wait for change; initiate it. Establish your Inclusion Charter today to create an environment where every employee feels respected and empowered to contribute. Are you ready to transform your workplace and drive impactful change? ➡️Join our upcoming webinar to explore transformative benefits of DEI in organisations ‘Measuring D&I Success: Metrics that Matter’ Date - October 8, 2024 Time - 4pm 🔗Register here: https://lnkd.in/dzcppwYW 📧Write to lakshmi@theoutcastcollective.com or visit https://lnkd.in/euwuEStV to learn more about our services. 🌍 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗽: 𝗗𝗘𝗜𝗕 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 🌍 Last week, I had the privilege of attending 𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱'𝘀 insightful session on fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging. It was an eye-opener on how leadership, behaviors, and interventions can create a space where understanding and empathy thrive. Here are some key takeaways: 1. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 = 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 Comfort isn’t just about a pleasant environment – it drives loyalty and business outcomes. Employees who feel comfortable at all levels strengthen customer relationships and the organization. 2. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗽 While 47% of employers believe employees feel valued, only 36% of employees agree. Recognizing and appreciating employees is key to fostering loyalty and engagement. 3. 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 Employees who can share ideas (61%) and think creatively (64%) feel they belong. Challenges like pay disparity and limited creative opportunities, especially for women, need addressing. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: Creating an inclusive culture goes beyond policy—it's about empowering everyone to reach their potential and bridging the gap between perception and reality. Sharing the top workplace motivators and best practices organizations can adopt to build an inclusive environment. #DEIB #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeEngagement #Leadership #InclusionMatters #EmployeeLoyalty #Belonging

Building Inclusive Workplaces in 2025 As we step into 2025, I’m reflecting on the growing importance of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (#DEIB) in shaping organizational success. In today’s globalized world, fostering inclusion isn’t just about checking a box—it’s about creating environments where people from all backgrounds feel valued, respected, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. 💡 One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is that understanding personal identity is key to building inclusive workplaces. When organizations recognize the unique experiences and cultural contexts each person brings, they unlock #innovation, collaboration, and trust. This year, I’m committed to: - Helping organizations foster #belonging through inclusive leadership. - Promoting #intercultural communication to bridge cultural gaps. - Advocating for systemic changes that make workplaces truly equitable. 🌍 Together, we can create workplaces that not only celebrate diversity but embrace it as a strength. What are your DEIB goals for 2025? Let’s connect and inspire each other to take meaningful action. #DiversityEquityBelonging #InterculturalCommunication #InclusionMatters #2025Goals

I was pondering... I feel safe and empowered at my workplace, but is it the same for everyone? What makes a workplace truly empowering? Is it the policies, the leadership, or the culture that shapes it? For me, empowerment begins with safety, respect, and inclusivity—things that should be non-negotiable for all. 💡 But it makes me wonder—how can we ensure that these values aren't just words on paper, but lived experiences for everyone, every day? I believe it starts with awareness, accountability, and open dialogue. What are your thoughts? How do we create spaces where everyone—especially women—feel confident and supported? #SafeSpaces #EmpoweredWorkplaces #LeadershipWithRespect #InclusiveGrowth #DiversityAndInclusion

🌍 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: More Than Just Buzzwords In today’s fast-changing world, DEI is no longer optional—it’s essential. It’s about embracing diverse perspectives, fostering equitable opportunities, and cultivating inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued and heard. 💡 Diversity goes beyond race or gender—it's about creating teams with different experiences, skills, and viewpoints. This richness sparks innovation and empowers companies to better reflect the diverse customers they serve. ⚖️ Equity ensures that every individual gets what they need to succeed, acknowledging that one size does NOT fit all. It’s about leveling the playing field and addressing systemic barriers so that talent can thrive. 💬 Inclusion means fostering a culture where every voice matters. It’s about ensuring that all employees—regardless of background—feel empowered to contribute, collaborate, and succeed. When companies prioritize DEI, it’s not just about doing the right thing—it’s also about unlocking better business performance, enhancing employee engagement, and building a culture where everyone wins. Let’s commit to action, not just words. Because DEI isn’t a box to tick—it’s a business imperative that drives real change and long-term success. #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #BusinessGrowth #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership #Innovation #Belonging #EmployeeWellbeing
