The Insight industry is changing - dramatically and fast! When I left employment last year to return to self employment I pitched myself to established agencies needing short-term, highly experienced/senior strategic insight resource. It didnt work! Maybe there's not a lot of contract work about - or maybe its me 🤷♀️! I have, however, been working (almost) continuously direct-for-client... which is brilliant - but sometimes lonely - and scary when there's no one to share dilemmas with. I absolutely believe Insight Professionals are better working in 2s, 3s or as part of a team. What if that team were all highly experienced strategic thinkers - from mixed backgrounds: qual, quant, planning/comms, innovation, ethno, offline/online?... And what if they all had extensive yet differentiated category - and country - experience: alcohol, fmcg, B2B, luxury, tech, healthcare/ pharma, UK/International...? What if they didn't have to answer to corporate owners and equity partners demanding ever-higher revenue and profit? Where instead the focus is entirely on delivering the best quality work to clients who know they're in the safest of hands? Meet Insight Leaders. After 20+ years in Life Sciences and Commercial Ops, December still gets my adrenaline going. One big lesson keeps hitting home: our success rides entirely on our partners getting their breakthrough moments. Here's my take on what to prioritize: 1. Our Partners’ Success: they are the fuel to our growth. The data's clear - 5% better retention drives up to 95% more profit (The CMO https://lnkd.in/eNsjTfpj). One missed delivery can mean months of lost research. Check every schedule commitment you’ve made. 2. Our Team's Growth: they are the engine to our growth.
