🌟Expanding Mentorship to Empower More Youth🌟  The Circle Program is thrilled to pilot an innovative Group Mentoring Program, pairing girls and youth with one or two mentors to strengthen connections and extend opportunities. This new approach allows us to reach more youth with our current mentors, creating a greater impact than ever before. Mentors Reba Lewis and Lilly Taccetta, who are leading this initiative, have already seen the power of these connections. Reba shared:   "We’re paired with two sets of sisters, and while there was some nervousness at first, the girls quickly connected through laughter and shared camp memories. Watching them bond and hearing them say it was the 'best day ever' makes it all so rewarding. Being a co-mentor has been equally fulfilling, as Lilly and I have formed a strong partnership that completes the circle of support." By fostering community and connection, this group mentoring approach ensures every youth enrolled in the Circle Program can access meaningful guidance and friendships. It’s an incredible way to serve more participants while maintaining the program’s heart and mission. 💙  Thank you to Reba, Lilly, and everyone who is helping to make this expanded outreach a reality. 📍iMentor at Mentor Capitol Hill Day! Krista Njapa, Managing Director of Corporate & Community Partnerships at iMentor, and Stephanie Van Damm, Nonprofit Board Service & Strategic Focus Area Leader at EY, led an engaging conversation during the EY x iMentor panel: Creating Meaningful Public-Private Networks at Mentor Capitol Hill Day in Washington, D.C. They shared valuable insights on the impact of mentorship and the critical role corporate and community partnerships play in guiding first-generation college students. The panel emphasized how collaboration between businesses and mentoring organizations drives meaningful change, ensuring that more first-generation college students have access to the support they need to succeed. Over the years, EY has contributed over $900,000 in support of iMentor and engaged close to 500 mentors, helping expand mentorship opportunities for first-generation college students. This morning, I reluctantly headed out to judge a Speech and Debate competition at my daughter's high school. The assignment? A full day commitment—8:30 AM to 7 PM. I wasn’t exactly thrilled. But what I witnessed today completely shifted my perspective.  As I listened to these students, I overheard other parents/judges saying:   - "This gives me hope for the future."   - "These kids are so impressive!"   - "I wish I could teach some of my employees to speak publicly like these kids do."  They were right. These students are *remarkable*. Their confidence, critical thinking, and preparation techniques are skills that many adults work hard to develop.  Today was a reminder that the future is being shaped in our classrooms. Our schools are filled with hardworking, talented young people preparing to take on the world—and they need our support.  If you’ve ever considered volunteering in a school, do it. Whether it’s judging an event, mentoring, or simply showing up, you’ll learn so much from these bright minds. 💚 An inspirational quote to start the week about the power of mentoring 💚 Trailblazers provides mentoring and practical support to around 170 people a year, while they are in prison and for a further period in the community post-release. Trailblazers works to reduce reoffending and improve outcomes for mentees through intensive weekly, one-to-one mentoring sessions conducted by a cohort of volunteer mentors. Mentees and mentors are carefully matched and meet weekly for up to 6 months in prison, and then 12 months post release. At the sessions, the pair work on individualised action plans which focus on changing behaviour and building a positive future post-release. This is augmented with practical support to ensure the basics for re-settlement are in place at the time of release, and in the early months post-release which is a critical period for many.
