Have you ever noticed how a tidy and organized community makes everyone feel happier and more connected? If you're looking for a way to bring your community together and make a positive impact, organizing a community cleanup day is the perfect solution! A community cleanup day brings people together to clean up litter, remove graffiti, and improve the overall environment. 🧹 Many communities struggle with litter and neglected public spaces, but by organizing an event like this, you can create an opportunity for residents to come together and take pride in their surroundings. 🌳 By gathering your community members and working together, you can make a significant difference in the appearance and cleanliness of your neighborhood. Plus, it's a wonderful way to teach children the importance of taking care of the environment and instill a sense of civic responsibility. Organizing a cleanup day might seem like a daunting task, but with the right planning and preparation, it can be a rewarding experience for everyone involved. 🗓️ Read our blog below to learn more about the importance of community cleanliness and how to organize your own community cleanup day! 🏘️ #CommunityCleanup #NeighborhoodPride #CivicResponsibility #CleanAndGreen #TogetherWeCan #ManagementPlus https://lnkd.in/gx4Vq-yq

🌲🌳 Last week, Maryland reached a major conservation milestone — after setting its “30 by 30” goal in 2023, the state announced that, as of February 2024, it had reached this goal six years ahead of schedule. This means that the state has already conserved more than 1.85 million acres out of Maryland’s 6.1 million acres of total land area. State leaders credit partnership as key to this conservation success, including working closely with local governments, nonprofit land trusts, conservation organizations, federal agencies, and landowners. Maryland is now looking towards its next milestone — conserving 40% of land by 2040. 🔗 Learn more about Maryland’s conservation progress via the Maryland Protected Land Dashboard: https://lnkd.in/e2vxTDtc

Walking SA attended the Conservation SA 'Civil Society Lunch with the Premier'- a lunchtime discussion with the Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas, about the needs of civil society to provide for healthy democracies. As a member of the conservation council, Walking SA were invited to participate in the discussion. Key takeaways are: * The need to strengthen civil society to find common ground and not enable divisive interests to prosper at the expense of the common good. * The role of nature, heritage and culture as fertile ground to bring people together and to ensure a sustainable and equitable future. * The need to reprioritise government spending to invest in the very things otherwise taken for granted - think re-distribution of wealth, preservation of natural resources and wild places, and environmental and cultural stewardship. Walking SA is proud to be part of critical discussions shaping the future of South Australia such as these. Find more about our advocacy: https://lnkd.in/gsZSucdk

The positive energy you get from being surrounded by people with passion and purpose is limitless.
Earth Day at Anew Climate was a day of inspiration among colleagues, family, and friends. We helped to plant 2500 trees in Houston, as part of the CITY OF HOUSTON PARKS & RECREATION DEPT Riparian Restoration Initiative. We dug into composting, explored the great outdoors, built beehives, and gardens, and cleaned litter from parks and shorelines around the world in the communities we call home. Wishing for all a springtime of action and hope for a better tomorrow. https://bit.ly/anewclimate #earthday #trees #cleanup #litter #dayofaction #actlocally #compost

Another step towards a more equitable outdoors! Really proud of the work my team and ally organizations have done to advance this legislation forward. Learn more & get involved below.
🚨Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the bi-partisan Outdoors for All Act 🚨 As part of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences Act, which will ensure that the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership has steady funding for generations to come. This program awards grant funding through the Land and Water Conservation Fund, supporting the development of new parks and the renovation of existing outdoor recreation infrastructure in underinvested communities. This is a huge step forward in bringing parks to the 100 million people in the United States who lack access to a quality local park. Thank you to those who supported, now let's get the Outdoors For All Act through the Senate! From March 15-May 31, we're partnering with the Cape Henry Audubon Society in asking you to turn off or block as many external and internal lights as possible at your home or business from 11 p.m.-6 a.m. to protect migratory birds! 🪿 Hampton Roads lies directly along the Atlantic Flyway used by millions of birds every year to migrate north in the spring, with the Chesapeake Bay being a major stopover point. Most birds fly at night, and as they pass through urban areas like Hampton Roads, they can become disoriented by bright artificial lights, causing them to collide with buildings or windows. To make a difference, you can do something as simple as reminding employees to flip the switch on the way out of the office or your family before bed, especially on upper floors. If you're able, close curtains or blinds and turn off exterior decorative lighting while you sleep. Not only do these steps protect migrating birds, but they will also help save money! 💵 To learn more and join the list of organizations working to protect birds and the environment in Hampton Roads, visit: https://bit.ly/49EXmHN 🪺
