Why must we fight doctors for more comprehensive labs? Why are our symptoms dismissed? Why is “normal” considered enough when 52% of Americans have at least one chronic condition? The problem lies in insurance incentives (more visits equal more revenue, leading to rushed appointments and little long-term care) and a lack of root-cause medicine training. I faced this when trying to get pregnant. My “normal” thyroid levels were actually suboptimal, leading to unexplained miscarriages and lots of stress that could have been avoided had my health been assessed more extensively. I eventually sought care from a functional medicine doctor (The Lanby’s Founding Physician) who identified low free T3, a test most doctors don’t include in their thyroid panel, but has been directly linked to miscarriages. Root-cause medicine requires more extensive lab testing, and unfortunately, most doctors resist this request. Just The Labs is our answer, with up to 98 biomarkers tested and a 45-minute consultation with a Clinician and Wellness Advisor to review your results holistically. They will answer all of your questions and provide personalized health recommendations for supplements, nutrition, advanced diagnostics, preventive screenings and clinical follow ups. I’m thrilled to offer this opportunity to non-Lanby members in New York and nationwide to kickstart their personalized healthcare journey. If you’re someone whose symptoms have been ignored due to “normal” lab results or are seeking more advanced biometric data to optimize your health, sign up for Just The Labs to get started.

What does it mean to work like The Greatest of All Time? We often associate being the greatest of all time with various accolades but what happens if we never get acknowledged? Should our excellence slip? Should we stop striving for greatness or worse yet become complacent with the current standard? As members of the pharmacy profession this may include: 🔹Finding ways to help a professional colleague exceed beyond their expectations 🔹Raising the status and respect of our profession 🔹Helping a patient overcome their health challenges through pharmacy care 🔹Working with a widely diverse group and building consensus on impossible and impractical issues 🔹Successfully stoking the advocacy fire in our pharmacy stakeholders 🔹Being the calm voice within a storm of issues and so much more. What have you done lately to work like the G.O.A.T.? I challenge you to go out of your way to make something happen this week and let us know about it so that we can celebrate you! #worklikethegoat #pharmacyexcellence #floridapharmacyassociation

In the five years since the publication of this Action Guide, we've built a lot of momentum and need to continue this steady progress. PQA remains a national leader in advancing pharmacist-provided care through convening events, research, pilots, and work to develop standard pharmacy quality measures. In this recent blog, I reflect on the Guide's impact and share my perspective on the collaborations shaping pharmacist-provided care.
Five years ago, PQA published the Strategies to Expand Value-Based Pharmacist-Provided Care Action Guide to spark conversation and foster collaboration between community pharmacy organizations, pharmacists and health care payers. In a new Q&A blog from Megan Hilbert, PQA Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, Loren Kirk, PharmD, CAE, IOM, reflects on the guide’s impact and shares his perspective on the collaborations that continue to shape pharmacist-provided care. https://lnkd.in/eGqnEBWr

Are you aware that June is not just another month, but it's Men's Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the health issues that men face? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the three leading causes of death in men in the U.S. are: • Heart disease 💔 • Cancer 🔴 • Unintentional injuries 🏎 Between 2017 and March 2020, about 50% of men 18 years and older had high blood pressure; I can't imagine this number has improved in recent years. Yes, I know life is busy, but it will continue to be busy with penciling in responsibilities for jobs and families. Still, the truth is life will always be busy. While I can go on and on about the importance of screening and preventative care, I'll highlight these two nuggets ✨ 📌 Make an appointment for your annual check-up today! What better time to get yearly check-ups than Men's Health Awareness Month? 📌 Remember, your health is in your hands. Medication adherence is not just a routine; it's a form of self-care. Taking your medication exactly as prescribed can make a significant difference in the long run, even if you don't 'feel' it at the moment. High blood pressure and high cholesterol are silent threats; you may not 'feel' them until it's too late. So, let's be proactive and take charge of our health! With the current economy, personal finances pose challenges not only to a family's mortgage or car payments but also to their ability to afford medications. Check out BuzzRx's different ways to help you save on your medications (and your pet's meds, too!). BuzzRx offers free coupons and saving cards, and if you are like me, who loves to have everything handy on my phone, BuzzRx provides a free app to help you save! #selfcare #menshealth #menshealthmonth #heartdisease #cancerawareness

How do you improve healthcare across the U.S.? One innovation and collaboration step at a time. Great partnership.
What do you get when you pair the country’s leading care model for seniors in Oak Street Health with the trust and convenience of CVS Pharmacy? It’s how expert care can and should be delivered everywhere. Yesterday was a great day going behind the scenes at our new innovative care delivery format with Prem Shah and hearing from our Houston team about what excites them and all we can still do. I’m so proud of the way our colleagues are stepping boldly into our mission to provide expert care that is accessible in every community – and of course, none of this would’ve been possible without the incredibly innovative Mike Pykosz and the leadership of Jared Tancrelle, Danni Gallagher, and Abby Bristow, Paula Daniliuc and Cristal Medrano. This is what building a world of health around the consumer looks like. 🌎❤️

3moJeff Mengenhausen well said. Every call I have with Joe Thomason at Community Hospital Corporation ends with him asking “how can I help and what do you need from CHC”. It is a great partnership
