AUSTRALIAN SKILLS PASSPORT SYSTEM to CONNECT WORKERS and EMPLOYERS The federal government has introduced a commendable initiative: "With a passport, you can travel; with a skills passport, you can secure employment". However, the specifics of this program are still in the early stages of development and have yet to be finalised. Nevertheless, it promises to offer a valuable platform for skilled professionals to gain recognition and connect through a nationwide skills passport system…” remarked Wee-Oon Chief Executive from OZemployment. This passport system aims to facilitate workers in showcasing their comprehensive qualifications, micro-credentials, prior educational achievements, workplace experience, and general proficiencies. Under this proposal, a professional worker's qualifications would be securely stored in a digital format, much like My Health Record national system. Furthermore, it is anticipated to unify various reform initiatives, including changes to the migration system, under a single overarching framework. "The positive impact is achieved through the sharing of data among professionals and employers. However, when we look at skills data for a group or population, its significance grows even further.
