Since founding Stack'd in 2015, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with remarkable NFPs (Not-for-Profits) across Alberta. These organizations, led by passionate and purpose-driven leaders, have been transforming their communities—and we’ve been honored to play a role in helping them create meaningful impact for their stakeholders. Over the years, we’ve supported NFPs in tackling some of their most significant opportunities and challenges, including: 1. Shaping new strategic directions and plans. 2. Reducing reliance on donor and grant funding by developing social enterprise strategies. 3. Redesigning organizational structures to maximize impact. 4. Merging like-minded organizations and supporting them with their post-merger integration efforts. 5. Enhancing leadership team health and effectiveness. We’re incredibly proud of the value we’ve helped create, but now, we’re taking it a step further. I’m excited to announce that we are making NFPs a core area of focus for our firm. This means dedicated resources, specialized service offerings, and an even greater commitment to helping these organizations thrive. Stay tuned for more updates as we build out our team and services tailored specifically to the NFP sector!

Transparency Co-creating Community decision making This is a powerful framework for impactful and sustainable collaboration between business and community!
“Philanthropy fuels the marketplace of ideas.” It was a pleasure connecting with fellow thought leaders at the 2024 #CECPSummit this week! The theme of Purpose + Persistence truly resonated throughout the event, especially while sharing the stage with #TruistFoundation Where It Starts anchor partner Joseph Scantlebury of Living Cities. We discussed the strategies that have helped foster transparency in our partnership and the importance of co-creating for greater impact. During my time at CECP and in sharing the space with Joe, we shared three key takeaways Transparency: Corporate funders must be willing to listen, learn and adapt based on measurement, evaluation and feedback. As for grantees, when you don’t have to be hesitant about being vocal if something isn't working—that’s a strong indicator you have transparency in a relationship. Co-creating: For funders, multi-pronged partnerships are the ideal outcome to creative community design solutioning, bringing organizations together who didn’t previously know each other to share investment, ideas and ways to strengthen small businesses. We can't do it alone! Community decision making: At #Truistfoundation we recognize that all communities are not the same and face different challenges. To address these, it’s important we work with different non-profits to create unique goals and action plans for each community, leveraging the community’s existing strengths. Through these pillars, we have seen our collaborative efforts flourish and drive instrumental, meaningful impact. Thanks to CECP for having Joe and I!

I am a leader, writer, and compassionate citizen. I believe in the development of society starting with the transformation of communities and powered by individuals willing to change.
My experience at West Houston Assistance Ministries has underscored the transformative power of community engagement. Collaborative partnerships with organizations like Houston Community College Community College, United Way of Greater Houston, and Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County have not only amplified our impact but also yielded deeper insights into the intricate needs of our community. Research affirms this value. A Stanford Social Innovation Review study highlights how cross-sector partnerships can lead to innovative solutions for complex social issues, surpassing the impact of isolated efforts [1]. By actively engaging with our community and fostering partnerships, we harness diverse resources and expertise to tackle challenges more comprehensively. This aligns with the concept of 'collective impact,' where organizations from different sectors unite to address a specific social problem with a shared agenda [2]. There is so much potential when we work together, all focused on the shared goal of alleviating poverty. How have partnerships enriched your organization's mission? What hurdles have you encountered in building these collaborations? #nonprofit #communityengagement #collectiveimpact #homelessnessawareness #povertyalleviation _ (References)_ [1] Austin, J. "The role of the funder in strategy implementation is not to be prescriptive about specific solutions, but rather to be a partner and a deep listener with grantees and community partners on what is most needed and when." "Systems change funders understand that those closest to the problem have the deepest knowledge of solutions, and frequently focus on building community power." "Funders can be helpful connectors and bring together different actors who hold different parts of the solution, and to provide resources quickly where they are most needed." A new article from FSG outlines the benefits of adopting a "community-driven", ecosystem approach to philanthropy. https://lnkd.in/dDTEQMwb
