Help Us Secure our LGBTQ+ youth’s success this end of year season of giving. ❤️ Our LGBTQ+ youth are at a disadvantage when it comes to accessing resources and support systems, and unfortunately, many end up on the streets without a safe place to call home. At Lost-n-Found Youth, we strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment for these youth, where they can receive the resources and support they need to succeed. This end of year season of giving, we ask that you consider donating to our cause. Your donation can help provide shelter, food, counseling, and other vital resources to our LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness. Every little bit helps and your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of these youth. In addition to monetary donations, we also welcome volunteer support and thrift store donations. If you're interested in getting involved, please visit our website to learn more about the various ways you can help us secure our LGBTQ+ youth’s success. Thank you for considering supporting Lost-n-Found Youth and helping us make a difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness. 💁♀️ I help women and LGBTQ+ founders and organisations look good in an inclusive and accessible way 🏳️🌈 British Creative Business"woman" of the Year 2023-24
I’m feeling very proud, yet a little sad. We put our heart and soul into this campaign, and although we understand there have been really big emergencies in the past month to say the least, I was (maybe naively?) hoping for something more. The response to the campaign has been absolutely overwhelming, with so many people sharing, commenting, vouching for us and supporting our mission. I still can’t believe how much we managed to build in so little time with Studio Lutalica, and I’m so incredibly proud of the amazing connections we made along the way. But I’m passionate and ambitious so nothing is ever enough 🥲 and I really want to start helping more organisations, especially the ones that don’t have the budget to spend to reach their audiences in a more accessible way. And what do we need to do more? You guessed it - money 💰 It’s been really hard to prove the impact of our work, but to put it as simple as possible: let’s say we work with an LGBTQ+ homelessness charity. We can’t take credit for the brilliance of the services they offer, of course, but if we build a brand that is credible, they can get more donations to help more people. If we build an accessible website, we can make a difference for service users being able to find the organisation and get support, and potentially even get a bed for the night in case of emergency. As I said many times, we will implement a sustainable structure for pro bono services. But with your help, we can start much sooner. It’s not too late. There are two days left to support our crowdfunding campaign. If you have anything to spare, please donate here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ekREhQ3U #PurposeOverProfit #DesignForChange #Crowdfunding #DonateNow #LGBTQDesign #FeministDesign #NonProfit #Pride
🌟It’s the Last Weekend! 🌟 We’re so close to the finish line of our first crowdfunding campaign - if you haven’t yet, please consider donating today. Studio Lutalica is raising funds to build the infrastructure needed to offer pro bono design services to organisations advocating for equality and justice for women and LGBTQ+ communities. Your donation will help us create a sustainable framework so we can amplify these vital voices and their impact. Donate today and help us design brighter futures 👉https://lnkd.in/epa9zY5g #PurposeOverProfit #DesignForChange #LGBTQ #WomenEmpowerment #SocialJustice #Crowdfunding

Sometimes folks said services could be affordable if they could find an in-network or reduced fee provider who shared identities important to them, like race, gender, or being a part of the LGBTQ+ community. Offering people options for sustainable care also helps our funding go farther, and allows us to save the funds for people who truly have no other options. #therapy #mentalhealth #psychology #nonprofit #fundraising #firstyearcelebration #healthcareforall

WHY IT MATTERS:
Thrilled that M&T Bank is supporting the Equality Community Center with $20,000 to further their mission and important work. We look forward to partnering with the ECC throughout the year and making a difference in our community! The Equality Community Center (ECC) in Portland is the first of its kind in Maine - a collaborative workplace for LGBTQ+ and allied social justice-seeking non-profit organizations while also serving as a community center for Maine’s LGBTQ+ community. My colleagues Mike Ross, Isaac Yeboah Yeboah, Katie Rooks of M&T Bank, and Wilmington Trust's Jerry Weidner of Wilmington Trust enjoyed a tour and presented a $20,000 donation to the ECC. “The funds from The M&T Charitable Foundation will support our efforts so we can continue to provide a space where everyone can be their authentic selves and thrive.” - Chris O’Connor, Executive Director, ECC Board

"Foundations allocated less than 4 cents per $100 of their total giving to U.S. trans communities and issues." -- 2021 Tracking Report: LGBTQ Grantmaking by U.S. Foundations It's been 3 years. What do you think has changed since then? The truth is, I don't know for sure, but I highly speculate that these 4 cents have not increased significantly, if at all. Point of Pride is unique in that our largest fundraiser each year comes directly from the community we serve. In just 2 years, we've seen over 70,000 individuals from the trans, nonbinary, gender-diverse communities, and our allies make donations, averaging $44 each. This community-driven funding constitutes a significant portion of our annual budget, supporting our 5 direct-service programs. I'm grateful for any person, company, or foundation that recognizes life-saving gender-affirming care as a fundamental right for all trans and nonbinary people. As we move into the second half of 2024, I hope to see this support grow rather than shrink, despite the challenging political climate surrounding transgender healthcare and access rights.

Today our we presented the results of our LGBTQIA+ survey. Some worrying statistics which show that prejudice and harassment still exists. Part of the purpose of the survey was to discover how we at Citizens Advice Gateshead might be able to help. We discovered that while 68% of respondents knew about Citizens Advice only 37% knew what sorts of services we provide. Then sadly 45% of respondents weren't sure if they would be comfortable coming to see us for information, advice and guidance and from the comments we surmised that people were worried about their confidentiality and being "outed". So our event today was timely and we had some really good conversations with our guests including Fighting With Pride - LGBT+ Military Charity, AKT and Pride in Mind about what the next steps might be. One of our first next steps is our dedicated drop-in for LGBTQIA+ people which is taking place Sunday 1st October between 10 and 2. If you'd like to know more about our project or about the drop-in then please drop me a message. #lgbtqsupport #inclusivespaces #pride
