Associate Professor in Cyber Security. Director of Tymlo Technology Ltd and Cyber Security Research Group (CSRG) NTU
Thrilled to announce that our team's application for funding the 'Crowd-sourced bug bounty platform for cyber security university students' in the prestigious 'Innovate UK-Cyber security academic startup accelerator programme CyberASAP 2024-25: phase 1' https://lnkd.in/eeVFa5Ju competition has been approved for funding! Phase 1. Congratulations the team of the project. Project's description: The cyber security industry struggles with the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills needed in the job market. Fresh graduates often lack hands-on experience in ethical hacking, relying on simulated environments and certifications for knowledge acquisition. To bridge this gap, a proposed solution suggests a crowdsourced bug bounty platform for cyber security university students. This platform would allow software owners to offer staging versions for ethical hacking by students. When vulnerabilities are found, students submit reports for validation, earning points or rewards based on severity. Benefits include accessible experience to students of diverse backgrounds and all ages to apply their cyber security expertise legally in line with the aim of the cyber choices programme of the national crime agency, cost-effective ethical hacking solution for software owners, incentives for students like payments and job offers, and a showcase of their cyber security skills. #CyberASAP #BugBounty #CyberSecurityInnovation

I had the incredible opportunity to attend ATxSG 2024, organized by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), part of the Ministry of Communications and Information. This year’s event was all about empowering enterprises and accelerating digital transformation. The launch of the Digital Enterprise Blueprint (DEB) by Mr. Tan Kiat How was a game-changer. With four key focus areas: Empower enterprises to be smarter with AI-enabled solutions Enable faster scaling through cloud-based and integrated solutions Improve cyber resilience for safer operations Support upskilling workers to maximize digital capabilities The DEB promises to benefit 50,000 SMEs over the next five years. It’s fantastic to see IMDA’s commitment, with initiatives like the SMEs Go Digital programme and partnerships with tech giants like AWS, Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce. Highlights: The launch of SGTech Apprenticeship Programme, providing valuable industry apprenticeships. The exciting collaboration with NVIDIA for the Ignition AI Accelerator, supporting AI startups. As chairman of SSACCI - Singapore South Asia Chamber Of Commerce And Industry, I'm excited and motivated to see the government's efforts to boost SMEs with AI and digital tools, making businesses more productive and resilient. Follow and connect with Dr Chinnu Palanivelu FCA for a wealth of industry knowledge, insightful discussions, and updates on the latest developments in my endeavors. #ATxSG2024 #DigitalTransformation #AI #CloudComputing #CyberResilience #Upskilling #SMEsGoDigital #TechInnovation #DigitalEnterprise #AITechnology

Think of a single APEX on a racetrack. Did you know there are theoretically infinite trajectories to turn that one corner? Consider every possible variation in entry, exit, speed, vehicle, driver, strategy, race... limitless. Practically though, there is a much smaller set of lines that generally fall within a spectrum of recognised EFFECTIVE "paths". Now I'm no F1 driver, but I do know the digital workforce is in the midst of an extremely sharp turn in skill development. The democratisation of capability- yes, you GenAI- into the hands of everyday users, pervading cyber threats, and urgent demand for public sector skillsets to address challenges of the future are all accelerating to breakneck speeds. Like the optimal racing line, while there are countless ways to approach the curve, TRAINING is essential to calibrate the most effective paths for skill enhancement. Let's ensure we maintain momentum and speed away without spinning out of control. #NationalSkillsWeek #PublicSector #DigitalSkills #FutureWorkforce
As we are in the midst of National Skills Week, it's the perfect time to focus on the importance of continuous skills development in our rapidly changing world. Skills are more than just tools—they are the foundation of innovation and resilience in our workforce. Barney Glover, Commissioner of Jobs and Skills Australia, has highlighted the critical need for a skilled and adaptable workforce, particularly as we face unprecedented challenges and opportunities. His emphasis on the role of education and training resonates strongly this week as we celebrate the value of upskilling and reskilling across all sectors. At Public Sector Network, we recognise that the skills we invest in today will define our success tomorrow. National Skills Week is our opportunity to come together, share knowledge, and take meaningful steps towards a future where our workforce is not just prepared, but empowered. Let’s take this week to reflect, engage in discussions, and commit to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. #NationalSkillsWeek #SkillsDevelopment #PublicSector Public Sector Network Gita Carnovale Genelee Mazarello Christian Sorensen Andy Brownscombe Jane M.

2nd year BA (Hons) Business Management student at Manchester Metropolitan University currently seeking placement opportunities | Graduate 2026
Today marked the midway point of Future Me Week at MMU. I attended a technology talk that was all about decoding your digital future. The panel consisted of members of the technology industry: Zeb Seed, William Slater, and Osama Zafar. They expressed how they were able to merge their degree to their chosen field in technology. I am now aware of the fact that many tech jobs like to employ people from a diverse range of industries so that everyone is able to bring something unique to the team, regardless of if you have a subject specific degree or not. As I am someone who would quite like to explore a career in technology, I understand how I can utilise my business management skills, as this can be transferable within the technological industry. Due to the fact that many skills from these fields interlink, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication.
