I like to share a trial of a program utilizing the Tanaka Equation to calculate water density accurately. Ideal for hydrodynamics and environmental engineering applications. Download from the following links one value of temperature to get the water density https://lnkd.in/dW36iBsD For the second one you have to input the ten values of temperature to get the curve for water density with the temperature https://lnkd.in/dqqA_Dra #TrialProgram #TanakaEquation #WaterDensity #Engineering #TechTrial

The journal Civil Engineering and Environmental Systems at Taylor & Francis (ISSN: 1029-0249, IF 1.8) is inviting papers for a Special Issue entitled "Civil Engineering Systems’ Resilience to Climate Threats". This Special Issue focusses upon the resilience of infrastructure systems, which incorporates their capacity to resist, cope with, and recover from climate-related shocks. We will publish new research and demonstrations of methods to identify and implement resilient responses to climate-related threats in infrastructure systems. We are particularly keen to identify new socio-technical adaptations to the threats from climate change and new methods for appraising and implementing resilient responses. For further reading, please follow the link to the Special Issue Website at: https://lnkd.in/dGu9KNRQ There is a deadline for submission of abstracts to the Special Issue – which is February 1, 2024 – but optional. Full manuscript deadline is June 29, 2024.

To owners of permeable pavement systems, those charged with maintaining these systems, and those charged with meeting regulatory compliance.... Is your permeable pavement BMP working better than you thought? How do you document better performance and take advantage of it? Do you need to conduct surface maintenance? Is the system infiltrating stormwater at the same rate today as it did five years ago? How much stormwater does your system "actually" capture? P4 Infrastructure, Inc has the answers - DIGITALIZATION. Take a look at the performance of a PaveDrain, LLC. intersection in Bladensburg, MD provided by Ernest Maier, Inc. A great complementary study by University of Maryland Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering outlines the benefits of measured data when evaluating performance of permeable pavement systems. DM me or contact P4 Infrastructure, Inc to learn more. #stormwater #stormwatermanagement #permeablepavement #INFILTracker

Large southerly swells rolling into Narrabeen right now. The significant wave height offshore has ticked over 5 metres. It is likely to drop a bit tomorrow before picking back up over 5 metres and from a more south-easterly direction on Wednesday. This will mean that wave energy will be more focused towards the southern end (closer to our camera) rather than the north as you see here. Look at how the windows on the building are a mirror for the incoming waves! UNSW Water Research Laboratory | UNSW Civil and Environmental Engineering
