I quickly realized that the resources here are way more limited than I expected. The focus is primarily on allied health positions in a not-so-great part of the Midwest. The internal database? Just a few hundred contacts! 😅 I've been actively reaching out to local colleges, diving into Facebook groups, and hunting for candidates on Indeed. But, I’m left feeling a bit overwhelmed and have a few pressing questions on my mind: How do I thrive in this startup-like environment without spreading myself too thin? What additional resources could I tap into to make the most of my Allied Health Recruiting efforts? How to Find “Healthy” Non-Clinical Employers: Some career coaches out there say that applying to non-clinical jobs is “simply a numbers game.” But guess which applicants inevitably find their way to the top of the pile? Those referred by internal employees… So, while yes, some jobs have a larger applicant pool than others, my approach to applying to non-clinical and remote positions does not rely merely on throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. Instead of blindly applying to whatever company pops up in their search, I advise researching and identifying healthy companies you WANT to work for, network heavily within those companies to obtain valuable information about the culture and health of the company, and then get your resume to the top of the pile via an internal referral whenever possible. So, beyond a search of a company's website and reading Glassdoor reviews, an honest internal perspective of a company's health will go a long way in determining if it's a company you see yourself thriving in.
