Enabling business & human transformation through the application of regenerative strategy, enabling education & technology | Eden Project Trustee
2 days on the beach at a business 'Conference- fresh air, fresh ideas, fresh approaches. This is the way to do it. Thankyou GOODFEST CIC, Matt Hocking, team and thankyou Mother Nature. Thankyou for articulating the experience so well Patrick Andrews. For me, the sand, sea, rain, wind and all the other nature elements hugely helped keep US fresh and focused on the reasons we are purpose- driven founders, professionals and creatives. Patricks use of the the word vitality really resonates with me. After GoodFest, I feel re vitalised and a sense that we collectively revitalised each other, whether a speaker, a natural element or an attendee, we worked as a eco system sustaining each other. With vitality in mind, I have set myself a task to think about the following: 💚 How can we continue to be with the essence of vitality when we think about our businesses and how we work? 💚 How do we navigate our impact on purpose, on profit and the planet? 💚 What does this mean for the core pillars of finance, leadership and governance? 💚 How do we ensure a feeling of aliveness. In the physical sense, feeling healthy and capable and energetic. Psychologically, a sense that our actions have meaning and purpose. Any thoughts/ help with thinking about this ☝ welcome 💚💚 Goodfest nurtures the space for new friendships to form and new partnerships to evolve, giving attendees sustenance for the mind, body and soul. And above all hope. Thankyou to everyone at Goodfest, including the awesome Clover Hogan Vineeta Greenwood Matt Hocking Fiona Ellis Rosie Riley Nick Whitnell Ben Templeton Stephanie Paterson Hugo Tagholm Tom Greenwood And a big thankyou to Jamie Pike for being my co-facilitator for the The Bio-Leadership Project workshop at Goodfest- 'what are you going to do before you die?'Our workshop navigated how we can go faster alone but further together , in the context of our individual mortality. #goodfest24 #cornwall #vitaminsea #sustainability #purpose #climate #business #bcorp #leadership #governance #regenerativebusiness
So Goodfest is over for another year. What to say about this super-friendly, lovingly-organised, stunningly-located, inspiring and lively event? My friends Vineeta Greenwood and Nick Whitnell have covered a lot in their posts. I wanted to add a couple of thoughts of my own. Firstly I want to honour the persistence and basic good-heartedness of the organisers. Organising and hosting such events can often be unrewarding and surprisingly time-consuming yet they can be incredibly valuable and meaningful for the participants. So well done to Matt Hocking and the team. I want to spotlight the place. The gathering just wouldn't be the same without the wild and rugged Cornish coast, gusty wind and rain and the crashing seas. A constant reminder of the basic beauty, resilience and sheer awesomeness of all life - which of course includes business at its best. Something I particularly cherished about the festival was that it embodied a certain “Cornishness”. To me this is a mixture of: - an independence of spirit, aided by the remoteness from the powerful energy of London, by having its toes dipped in the Atlantic Ocean and by its ancient Celtic heritage. - a raw vitality, exemplified in Mark Shayler’s Chi Gong session the first morning, in the energy and commitment of Clover Hogan and Hugo Tagholm, and in the bracing Cornish wind and rough waves. - deep connection: to a vision of business as a force for good, to strongly-held values and to place; and - a willingness to help out, to serve others, to share friendship, food and laughter with guests from across the UK and beyond. I will take away memories of rich conversations, blasts of Cornish air and a tingling in my body from a dip in the sea. And I am inspired to contribute to the more beautiful world we all dream of. Greetings to the friends, old and new, I spent time with there including Erica Neve FRSA Sarah King Stephanie Paterson Jamie Pike Martin Palethorpe and Tom Greenwood

Who am I and what am I doing here: The challenge 😎 My colleague Cemre 😍 nominated me to take part in this new challenge so we can get to know our LinkedIn bubble a bit better, and I love the idea of setting the tone of my LinkedIn activity for the year with a personal touch. Rules are: I respond to these 5 questions, and then I nominate 3 people from my bubble, who then have 7 days to answer this question and nominate 3 of their connections. (You can answer in your preferred language!) Question 5 is individual and should be freely chosen for the upcoming nominations. So here I go: My Perfect Sunday? 🌟 Ah, my perfect Sunday is all about the simple joys! Picture this: a long walk with my dog Tarçın in the park, then a healthy and slow breakfast at home. 🥑 What would I do if I wasn't afraid? 🌟 If fear wasn't a factor, I'd move out of the city and get at least 10 dogs and 10 cats with me to live together and start a sustainable farm. 🐶 🐈 An unhealthy habit? 🌟 Let's talk about the classic – procrastination. It's like my arch-nemesis. I've got this habit of putting things off until the last minute, and let's be real, it's a stressful party waiting to happen. I am actively working on breaking free from this procrastination loop for a chill and balanced vibe. 🌈 What am I grateful for? 🌟 Gratitude vibes coming in strong! I'm seriously grateful for me and my family and friends' health & peace. I also appreciate that they're the real MVPs, standing by me through thick and thin. Their love and support make every crazy adventure in life all the more worthwhile. 🕊 Feel free to share these friendly responses on LinkedIn, and don't forget to nominate three of your connections for the challenge! 😊 What do you think Ece, Aybike, and Markus - ready to share some personal insights? 😁 🎈 #challangeaccepted

Director of Trade Advocacy | Engaging Storyteller. Luxury Intrapreneur. Transformational Leader. | Hospitality Champion & Speaker
Last Monday, several folks from MH had the incredible opportunity to attend The Welcome Conference 2024. Each of us left transformed! To note, for a hospitality centric conference, both the audience & speakers were from a wide range of trades and geographic origins (across the US and internationally!). The red threads of Welcome 2024? The importance of teams, interpersonal relationships, and how to maintain them. Every speaker touched on this theme despite their varying topics. My BIGGEST lightbulb moment was from Jade Simmons. The top 2 takeaways: 1. Your Purpose is NOT the thing you do. It’s the thing that happens in others when you do what you do. 2. Purpose causes atmospheric shifts Looking forward to Welcome 2025!

I’m not one to make posts on such a professional networking platform. One, I’m not great at networking. Two, majority of us have these nice unrealistic headshots of ourselves that can create barriers to truly connecting with one another. Let’s admit it some of yall look intimidating. I guess I can thank my good friend Kevin Hart that reminded me via his roast the importance of sharing stories. Comedy aside, the real reason I find myself here today is because I’m starting to feel the impact of those stories told. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending my company’s [Youturn] ‘All of YOU’ conference. Again, I don’t typically write about these things because in the moment they can come across as mundane or a mandatory tick box on improving company culture. During the conference, I was surprisingly engaged and could feel a shift, but wasn’t able to identify what was going on. The next week at work I found myself requesting to join the RAP committee and a bit more passionate about the work I was doing. Something was happening. The following weeks brought a fair share of things that could bring me down, but I kept finding myself making those moments seem small in the grand scheme of life. I tell ya, inner me was hype. How good am I that I’m just shaking these things off like nothing is happening?! My brain, different story. It needed to understand. That’s when I traced it back to the conference. To the stories. To the moments of listening to people who had been through far worse things than what I was going through and being reminded of the power of perspective, the power of people, and the power of gratitude. If we don’t share our stories and we don’t share our perspectives, how can we expect to grow? I was reminded today, if you are just going to join another meeting to sit there and be compliant, then why join? I was challenged to start making waves and while I’m still unsure of how I am going to get there. I’m hoping that by sharing my experience and reminding people to speak up, share your stories, challenge the status quo, we can start to connect and build. Here’s to the ripple. [Enjoy an old video below of one of the keynote speakers [Mark Mathews] for some inspiration and the symbolism seemed appropriate.]

I decided to hand out my own highly informal yet amazingly prestigious awards at the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC) awards gala on Wednesday and now I'm announcing three more! (You get to do whatever you want when someone hands you a microphone. :) - Best insights award: To Kelly Becker who finally made it possible to speak directly to dogs and deeply understand their needs and emotions. - Best parallel study award: To Margaret Chapman and Steve Male for openly sharing a direct comparison of AI vs human analyses. I've been waiting so long for someone to prove they care about validity! - Best audience participation award: To Lisa Wright and Vijay Wadhawan for getting so many people in the audience talking about removing barriers and fostering diversity and inclusion in our industry Congratulations! #MRX #Insights #MarketResearch #MarketingResearch #CustomerInsight #ConsumerInsight #QuantitativeResearch #QualitativeResearch #CAIP #CRIC #CanadaCAIP #CanadaPAIM #CaipPaim
What a great awards gala we had last night at the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC)’s H*Factor conference! In addition to the traditional awards and honours, I stole time on stage to give out my own informal yet highly esteemed awards. Here they are in order from most tasty to most awkward: - Best giveaway: Canadian Viewpoint with their on-site, randomized ice cream bar taste test (yum!) - Best acronym: Paul Acerbi with VCCRDMSGSD - Don’t ask me what it stands for! - Best word: Jeff Hecker, MBA, CAIP with the word fleshy. We managed to say that word on stage numerous times afterwards, all in the most strange ways :) My heartiest congratulations to each of you! Let’s go and have another awesome day of insights!

When I first stumbled across jump.global, I immediately fell in love with their mission of "promoting self-worth & professional development for those working in the music business" - how powerful is that, especially in today's music job market?! I instantly became enamored with J.G's Founder Nick Maiale and made it a personal mission to connect when I knew we'd both be at Music Biz this year, and when we met I hugged Nick like we've been best friends for years - because that is how Nick makes people feel - like they have a best friend in music that they can just be themselves around, no ego, no bs - just your own glorious being. Add the full J.G team together with JJ Farrell & Garrett Lee and you get one insanely kind, warm, and impactful community! Jump.Global's annual summit is coming up and if you are able to attend, I highly recommend it. Check out the 2023 recap here: https://lnkd.in/eRCfREFU WHO: 250+ music business executives, professionals, humans who strive to be better – in life, at home, and in the workplace. Attendees come from all over – NYC, Nashville, Atlanta, London, LA, etc. Accredited coaches who specialize in the music industry are in attendance as well. WHAT: A multi-day summit focused on personal and professional development in the music business. Topics include mental health, wellness, leadership, goal setting, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, effective communication, and so much more. WHEN: November 17 - 20 at The LINE in Los Angeles WHY: Having more humans who work in the music business understand these topics, have empathy, emotional intelligence, etc. will ultimately create a better, more human environment for our business – execs, artists, and all. Jump.Global has curated everything for you – you just need to show up and be present. If you're interested in attending and would like to learn more, please check out the post under Member Perks in the B.A.K Play.Ground or message me directly for a special registration link. **Why I’m Grateful I Attended GLOW Conference: A Transformative Experience** Sometimes, the best opportunities come when we least expect them. I almost missed the GLOW Conference, but I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I've made this year. From Thursday to Sunday, every moment was a blessing that left me inspired and invigorated. The conference was a melting pot of ideas and innovation, featuring incredible speakers who shared their journeys and insights on how to do things the way Kings will come to your brightness (Isa. 60:3). Each session was packed with actionable strategies that challenged my thinking and encouraged me to push beyond my comfort zone. I found myself jotting down notes and ideas faster than I could process them! But it wasn't just the speakers that made GLOW special; it was the vibrant community of attendees. Engaging with fellow KD friends and family members who we reunited again from diverse backgrounds fostered rich conversations and collaborations that I never anticipated. I exchanged ideas with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and aspiring changemakers who each brought their unique perspectives to the table. One standout moment for me was during a breakout session where were taught brainstorming ideas with effectual solutions to real-world challenges. The energy in the room was palpable, and the collective creativity was inspiring. I left that session not just with ideas, but with a renewed sense of purpose and motivation. As I reflect on the weekend, I’m grateful for the connections made, the knowledge gained, and the inspiration sparked. GLOW was more than just a conference; it was a reminder of the power of God and the endless possibilities that arise when a passionate individual plunge. If you’re looking for a transformative experience that will elevate your career and broaden your horizons, I wholeheartedly recommend attending BLACK & BLESSED/FRONTLINERS CONFERENCE next year. Trust me—you won’t want to miss it! #glow #light #bnb_frontlinersconference #kingdomdiplomatsng #kingdomdiplomats_global
