Interacting with animals (whales via audio callbacks in this case) is improving, and ML is helping understand "inferred intent" behind communication (abstract signaling). You can read about an example here: https://lnkd.in/gKuXZ73V

Machine learning allows us to learn more about the intricacies of the animal world - in this case, especially elephants. Researchers from Colorado State University use machine learning to find a "name-like" pattern in the rumbles that elephants use to communicate. They were able to extract sound patterns related to specific elephants, and when they replayed the sounds to the elephants, they showed a reaction to the name! Absolutely fascinating! I link the paper and YouTube video in the comment section. #machinelearning #patternrecognition #nature #elephants

Martijn Lopes Cardozo I think humans can indeed harness the power of collective intelligence effectively, but it requires alignment of objectives and a shared commitment to working toward the same goal. When thoughts and actions are united, the potential for success multiplies. In the case of ants, as seen in this example, the objective is clear—fetching food. The ants demonstrate empathy and collaboration by leaving pheromone trails, ensuring that their fellow ants can follow the path to the food source. This act of cooperation showcases a natural form of collective intelligence, where the success of one benefits the entire colony. Similarly, for humans to fully utilize collective intelligence, there must be a unified purpose, with individuals acting in ways that support and uplift the collective effort. (Eg: Climate Action - A Global problem, where every citizen has to work with "conscientiousness"). #CollectiveIntelligence #Human #Collaboration #Teamwork #Unity #SustainabilityInAction #CircularEconomy #InsectBehavior #NatureLessons #EmpathyInNature #PheromoneTrails #BiodiversityMatters #AntsAndHumans #EnvironmentalScience #conscientiousness

Animals use collective intelligence for survival. Ants, for instance, use pheromone to form trails towards food sources. Scientist & artist Maximilian Prüfer has studied this behaviour for years using super sensitive paper with ants, snails and flies. It is interesting to think how this would translate to humans. How do we use collective intelligence? How do we form shared beliefs? Answers to these questions may well inform us how we solve some of the largest problems facing humans and may be essential for our survival. #regeneration #circulareconomy #ants

THE BOA CONSTRICTOR KILLING DEMOCRACY THE TWO WAYS TO KILL DEMOCRACY CLASSIC DIRECT FORCE AND THE LEGAL FORCE USING THE BLOODLESS BOA CONSTRICTOR KNOW HOW. IN 2003 THE INTERNATIONAL MISSION OF INVESTIGATION on Malaysia titled its Report “The Boa Constrictor”: https://lnkd.in/eFWNDGqX Silencing Human Rights Defenders. It knows the beast which invaded the courts ""The boa constrictor, says the report through a slow strangulation of all spaces of free and critical discourse: the danger of such a system is that the asphyxiation is never sudden, nor is it immediately visible - hence its efficiency. Scientists have since discovered that the boas do not strangle their prey but cut the blood circulation of their prey. But does it matter "For scientists, constrictor snakes have always come across as total hunters. Armed with highly acute sensory abilities — they can detect prey heartbeats, for instance — they're fast and powerful predators. Still, it seems that humans may have underestimated them. Constriction is actually stronger, faster, and more effective than most researchers thought. It brings me to the point: no democracy will be viable as long as the boa constrictor is depriving it from oxygen. There are two ways two release the boas' grip. Grabbing it by the tail and pulling (amazing results) or beheading it which , it is counter intuitive' is slower https://lnkd.in/egfms-7n

There are many side benefits to working on cognitive assessments. We have one accessible assessment that asks you to name as many animals as you know. Today, I learned that there are way more hybrid animals than I thought, and that their names seem to have been invented by ten-year-olds. Which one is your favorite?
