Translator General and Legal Freelancers | Translator and Interpreter in DCP | FUTURU LIDER BA ASEAN - cohort 1 || #Dedicated to Accuracy, Confidentiality and Legal Principles
On April 26, 2024, the Futuru Líder Ba ASEAN (FLBA) Malaysia Team convened with the Association of Malaysia Alumni in Timor-Leste (AMATL) at Hotel Timor to forge insights and prepare for their upcoming engagements in Malaysia. The meeting was rich with practical advice and culturais insights aimed at equipping the FLBA team for their Malaysian visit. A significant focus was on safety and security, AMATL also highlighted the necessity of adhering to local customs. The FLBA team discovered Malaysia's emphasis on pre-university schooling and university support for career preparation. Despite Malaysia's educational strengths, a knowledge gap about Timor-Leste was noted, sparking discussions on fostering awareness and cultural exchange. This interaction not only enhances the FLBA team's readiness but also fosters stronger ties between nations, illustrating the power of knowledge and cultural exchange within regional contexts. #FuturuLiderBaASEAN #FLBA_to_Malaysia #AMATL #ASEAN #CulturalExchange #TimorLeste #Malaysia

☆ Ballroom Dancer ☆ ☆ Inspirational Ballroom Dancing Speaker | Coach ☆ I share my journey, inspire others to embrace resilience, pursue happiness and remember, failure builds success, giving up missed opportunities!
The Power of Preparedness - Lessons from the Past **The Importance of Preparedness in Achieving Success** Imagine it's 1995, and I embarked on an unexpected journey into ballroom dancing. My mother, Mdm. Sim Joo Joo, and her dance partner, Mr. Chong Sheng Zhi, taught me the basics and instilled in me the importance of being prepared. Our meticulous preparation led us to win first place in all beginners' categories at the Kuantan Ballroom Open Championships in Malaysia. Our pioneers understood the value of preparedness. Dr. Goh Keng Swee, the architect of Singapore's economy, emphasized meticulous planning and preparation. His foresight and detailed economic plans transformed Singapore into a global financial hub. In our professional lives, being prepared is crucial. Whether it’s a big presentation or daily tasks, thorough preparation can make a significant difference. Reflect on your own experiences and share how being prepared has contributed to your success.

Cultural Capability Coach – I help culturally aware people, confidently move from competence to capability.
Having to change your workplace name from te reo Māori to English still upseting you? You are a committed government servant. Still not sure who this change is for, but you know it is a step in the wrong direction. How do you hold onto your values? You have been part of a generation that has seen the importance of revitalising and learning te reo Māori. You know that the way forward for Aotearoa New Zealand is having integrity for our Tiriti relationship. You know you must comply with the directive, especially in a time where our civil servants are having job cuts. So how do you hold to your values and still be part of progressing our country: 1. Remember you have agency; you can be who you are. Be innovative, do things differently while you remain the same person. 2. Think, this might be one step back, so I am going to take 2 steps forward. 3. Learn a bit more te reo and use it in your emails, greetings, and everyday language, make it normal. 4. Remember the meaning of the gifted name and share it wherever you can. e.g. Waka Kotahi was gifted by iwi to it in 2008 but given much greater prominence from 2019 on. The Māori name conveys the concept of 'travelling together as one' and embraces integration, affordability, safety, responsiveness, and sustainability. The Waka Kotahi logo was inspired by the concept of life's pathways. This says so much more than NZ Transport agency. And very importantly, support Māori to be Māori. Words of wisdom from my LinkedIn friend Karaitiana Wilson, “Te reo will continue to grow and thrive, because for many of our mokopuna and rangatahi it is normal. For many of our young it is an expected part of their daily lives, and not something different, divisive, or othering. He waka eke noa – we are in this together. #cultural capability #cultural competence #cultural intelligence #antiracism Kia ora, I’m Lisa Heald. I help you to ‘cross the chasm’, turning cultural competence into capability. Walk with me to inspire and enable others to build strong cultures that respect our peoples.

Growth through Bespoke Market Intelligence and Corporate Transformation Services 🇸🇬 | Building Products for the Future of Work 🧠 | I'm Hiring 📣
Venture building is a long game. 🛣️ It took Int Labs and OCBC Indonesia at least two years to conceptualise, prototype, pivot, and finally launch an edutech project in the Indonesia market. Throughout this process, these are just some key things we learned about building a new venture within a large corporate: 1. Stakeholder alignment is key ⭐️ Building a new venture challenges the DNA of a large organisation that "tends" towards BAU activities. A new venture requires complete rethinking of the kinds of value proposition we can create, team capabilities, and also ways of working. This requires real commitment from all levels in the organisation. We were grateful that in this project, we had the continuous support of the CEO of the bank, Bu Parwati Surjaudaja all the way to the committee supporting the enablement of our ideas Bu Julie Anwar, Bu Chinni, Pak Komang, Pak Amran, and also Bu Audrie. This gave the working team the psychological safety and confidence they need in taking risks and trying truly new things. 🙏🏼 Rarely did we have a chance to see the entire chain of the organisation so committed to a new venture such as this, and we believe this played a huge part to the project's success. 2. Perseverance and determination 🏃🏻 Ideas are cheap. Ultimately, the team with the best implementation wins. We had to work extremely hard, especially at the beginning, to determine the right direction and solutions to build. We ran experiments after experiments to validate our theses, and ran into dead ends many times. Ultimately, the team figured out a formula that worked and we doubled down. Huge shout out to the working team Sekar, Felia, Anandra, Dwi Intan, Jhuan for their relentless belief in the team and our vision. I believe there were literal sweat and tears in making this idea a reality, and our team at Int Labs could not be prouder of them. 🫶 3. Continuous learning 🧠 Failure is part and parcel of developing a new venture. You need more than just hard work to find that one idea that will click. Every failure is a data point that we used to inform us on our approach. We dissected each and every one of them to generate new insights. 🧐 We continuously invested in learning new skills (from marketing, to slide building, to prototyping and testing), and we were also adjust how we work as a team (especially in relation to the larger entity of a bank). This helped us iterate not just on our ideas, but on our selves and capabilities to become a "better fit" towards the problem we were trying to solve. --- I am extremely excited to see the results the team managed to achieve after all these years. Quick shoutout to the Int Labs team that made this possible: Connar, Adi, Nico, and Dimas. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project. We have achieved something truly amazing. 🫶

11 May 2024 / 2 Zulkaedah 1445H "If you want to enjoy the rainbow, be prepared to endure the storm." ~ Warren W. Wiersbe "Berakit-rakit dahulu, berenang-berenang kemudian. Bersakit-sakit dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian" is a Malay proverb summarising that enduring hardship or discomfort is often a prerequisite for achieving meaningful goals or personal growth. Success typically demands hard work, perseverance, and at times, sacrifices. This may involve investing additional hours, tackling challenges head-on, or persisting through setbacks and failures to ultimately realise success or attain a desired objective. Individuals must be willing to venture beyond their comfort zones to foster personal development and growth. This entails embracing risks, confronting fears, and navigating through adversity to emerge stronger and more capable. Ultimately, achieving success requires dedication, resilience, and a readiness to confront challenges. While setbacks and failures may be inevitable, they can serve as invaluable learning experiences that pave the way for eventual triumph when met with unwavering determination and perseverance. #ProgramAnjakanMinda #sdg4qualityeducation #sdg5genderequality #21stcenturyskills #learningskills #lifeskills #literacyskills #growthmindset #selfconfidence #csr National Football Development Programme of Malaysia inspiraComm Nurlina Hussin Hazim Abdullah Nuha Md Sihap Misha Allysa
