I'm not sure 'New year, New Job' is as big a thing as it has been previously (will be interesting to chart application rates) but there will still be plenty out there wondering what 2024 has in store. If this is you, there are lots of routes to a new role but most will include doing a CV. The most important thing? You should highlight your successes and achievements. When applying for a job, it is crucial to showcase your accomplishments as they provide concrete evidence of your skills, capabilities, and contributions to your previous roles. Whether it's exceeding targets, leading successful projects, or receiving accolades for your work, these achievements demonstrate your value as a potential employee and set you apart. Second most important thing? Don't worry if you don't get the job. Many excellent candidates have to go through a multitude of processes to secure a role & company that is a good match. #jobsearch #newyearnewjob

I’m going to throw out a question that may or may not be controversial but for me is a legitimate query. What does it take to get an employer to notice your application when you’re over the age of 50 and you’ve been in the banking industry forever, 15yrs in management, and that industry just laid off thousands of people in Canada? I keep hitting the same wall…I go through the interview process with a bank only to be told it was a hard decision but they went with an internal candidate. I apply for manager positions with retail businesses but they don’t consider running a branch a retail setting so I don’t even get to the interview stage. I apply for entry level positions hoping for the chance to get a foot in the door but then I’m told I’m over qualified. I’ve revamped my resume and cover letters more times than I can count. I’ve had them reviewed by professionals. It’s been 6 months, I’ve sent out well over 100 applications with no success and I literally have no idea what else to do. I never thought, as an award winning leader, it would be this hard to find a job.

Stop blaming yourself – Here’s the truth about why that job offer didn’t come through! 💡 You’ve nailed the interviews, prepared extensively, and yet, the outcome wasn’t what you expected. Before you start doubting your abilities, let’s shift the narrative. It’s not always you. In fact, it could be: You're too qualified for the role. The pay doesn’t match your worth. The company hit pause on hiring without warning. Someone on the inside got the role. They’re searching for a culture fit you weren’t even aware of. There are endless reasons outside of your control. So, stop being so hard on yourself. The right opportunity is out there waiting for you to seize it. Keep pushing – your perfect fit is closer than you think! 🚀✨ #OpenToWork #FinancialAdvisor #SalesRepresentative #BankingJobs #WealthManagement #ClientSuccess #TorontoJobs #Multilingual #FinancialCareers #BankingCareers #CanadaJobs #OpenToWork #FinancialAdvisor #SalesRepresentative #BankingJobs #FinanceJobs #WealthManagement #ClientSuccess #Multilingual #TorontoJobs #BankingCareers #CIBC #RBC #BMO #FinancialServices #CanadaJobs

🎉 You’ve Been Offered Your Dream Role—amazing pay, flexible hours, and a prestigious company name. You’re thrilled! But hold on… is this too good to be true? Welcome to the Recruiter Bait scam—where scammers dangle enticing job offers to trick you into handing over personal details, copies of your ID, or even a “processing fee.” 🚨 Red Flags to Watch Out For: 💼 Dream jobs that appear out of nowhere with sky-high salaries. 🔒 Requests for sensitive info like your bank details or ID before you even interview. 👤 Recruiter profiles that look incomplete or generic. 💡 Pro Tip: Always verify recruiters by reaching out to the company directly, and never share personal details upfront.

Is Securing a Job in 2024 as Rare as Winning the Lottery? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gTJBex8X #JobMarketStruggles #JobSearch2024 #CareerAdvice Hey everyone! 🌟 I just wanted to share my thoughts on the job market these days. Honestly, trying to land a job in 2024 feels like chasing after winning the lottery. 🎰 With over 3,000 job applications submitted since 2021, despite having a two-year and a four-year degree along with four years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, the struggle has been REAL. How did we get here? Here's why it feels so tough out there: Outdated Job Postings: It's frustrating to apply for jobs only to find out they've already been filled—especially when they remain listed for months! 😩 Can employers please update their postings so we don't waste our time? Long Waits: The entire application process takes forever! If you actually get an interview, it often feels like you applied ages ago. Waiting months on end just to hear back can be disheartening. Toxic Work Environments: Even when you land a job, sometimes the culture is toxic! 🤬 I experienced this firsthand working part-time at a Community College, where I felt pressur...
