We have successfully delivered the first package of work for Project TAMPA to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD). The MOD awarded us the contract, along with NP Aerospace, RBSL, Thales and AMFG in April 2023, with the goal to progress the use of additive manufacturing within defence. Using additive parts could help overcome obsolescence, reduce cost, improve performance and increase the availability of materials, enhancing defence capabilities and critical assets. Our team delivered three new solutions for complex parts that face supply chain issues. The project included complex components for the L118 Light Gun, 4.5 inch gun on the Type 23 frigate, and the torpedo launch system for both the Astute and Dreadnought class submarines. The Light Gun eye shaft has been recommended for adoption into the defence inventory by MOD’s Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) and is ready to be ordered through our Material Availability Service. Tripflares are devices used by military forces to secure areas and guard against infiltration. They consist of tripwires connected to one or more flares. When the tripwire is triggered, the flare lights up, alerting that the perimeter might have been breached and providing light for investigation. At Goodfish Powell and Harber in Worcester, we mould the parts that form the body of these flares. These components require an additional hole to be drilled after moulding, as it cannot be included during the initial moulding process. IMCO Group, an Israeli company specializing in the planning, development, manufacturing, and marketing of a diverse array of products in electricity, electro-mechanics, electronics, electro-optics, and mechanics, announces a multi-year framework agreement with the Israeli Ministry of Defense (MOD) valued at an estimated 377 million NIS. Under this agreement, the company will manufacture and supply electrical systems and subsystems, including advanced video management systems, power management systems, and harnesses, for armored fighting vehicles, including Merkava main battle tank, Namer and Eitan armored personnel carriers. The delivery period for this agreement spans from 2024 to 2030. This new agreement, described by the Ministry of Defense as the largest contract signed with IMCO Group, will enable the group to supply state-of-the-art, combat-proven systems to those main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers. Replacing a previous agreement from 2020, this multi-year framework expands the scope beyond the current agreement. IMCO Group is expected to complete the production and supply of products under the existing agreement during 2024-2025 while simultaneously commencing manufacturing and supply under the new agreement’s terms. As of the first quarter of 2024, IMCO Group’s total order backlog stands at approximately 350 million NIS. The new agreement is expected to more than double the group’s order backlog to a total of approximately 725 million NIS.
