🎿 Embracing the End of the Ski Season: A Family’s Journey of Growth and Resilience 🎿
As we bid farewell to another thrilling ski season at our beloved Powderhorn, it’s time to reflect on the transformative journey we’ve embarked on as a family. This season was particularly special as it marked a significant milestone for our middle daughter, Isabelle, who joined us in our cherished winter activity - skiing. 🏔️
Isabelle’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Diagnosed with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH), a congenital disorder that affects vision, and having faced challenges related to intractable epilepsy, she has shown remarkable resilience. This year, she participated in the Colorado Discover Ability’s (CDA) blind skiing program at Powderhorn, completing 10 runs in her first level of lessons. 🌟
This achievement is not just about skiing; it’s about overcoming obstacles, setting goals, and achieving them, no matter the challenges. We are immensely grateful to the CDA for their dedication and for providing Isabelle with the opportunity to ski. Their work underscores the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in sports and activities, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their challenges, has the chance to participate and thrive. 🙌
As we look to the future, we eagerly anticipate the next season, ready to embrace new challenges and celebrate more milestones together as a family. Here’s to resilience, support, and the transformative power of love and dedication. 💖
