Longevity - a groundbreaking step in the luxury hotel industry?
I have been following developments in the top hotel industry for more than two decades. Back in the 1990s, when the race for the most luxurious wellness facilities began and millions were invested in the most exquisite materials such as marble, and so on, I had a premonition that we were moving towards a kind of "mental" saturation of hotel guests.
Today, from my current perspective, we seem to have reached exactly this point.
📊 According to Statista, there were around 19,400 hotels in the 5-star and higher category in 2024. For guests, this means an abundance of choice, so they would never have to visit the same hotel twice in their lives.
What do hotel guests expect from their vacation? I'm not talking about the obvious amenities such as: fast and free Internet access, a welcome fruit gift, free use of a fitness room or a pillow menu for a good night's sleep. In a #luxury hotel, guests can expect facilities and services of the highest international standard.
But how can our hotel be remembered in the long term and turn a guest into a regular? A guest will always return if he has the deep feeling after his stay that he has done the right thing for himself.
This is exactly where I believe the modern possibilities of the longevity movement come in, which has become increasingly important in recent years.
The guest who leads a successful life wants to enjoy it for as long as possible. With a well-implemented longevity area, first-class hotels are already able to create an extraordinarily strong unique selling point that will bring them a solid increase in regular guests for years to come.
Why? Because a well-planned and perfectly implemented Longevity Center offers guests far more than just relaxation and peace during their vacation. It provides them with knowledge and methods that can change their lives for the better.
Many years ago, I was involved with #Cellgym in the first "medical spa" implementations in well-known #hotels and hotel clinics. And these hotels still enjoy a very high status with their guests today because of precisely this service they offer. Cellgym-IHT/IHHT is a basic method to bring the human energy power plants, the so-called mitochondria, to the best possible level, which is the basis of all #longevity interventions.
I have accompanied many luxury hotels in the implementation of their own longevity area, and to make it clear right away: It's not a sure-fire success. But it is an investment with manageable costs and long-term effects. A functioning longevity area in a hotel is a unique selling point that is either implemented as a pioneer and leads to increasing sales, or must be introduced in some form sooner or later in order not to lose touch with the market.
Now it becomes simple, you just have to ask yourself the question: Am I a first mover or not.
❔ Would you make use of a good longevity center in your hotel during your vacation?
