At the recent AHA Scientific Sessions, an insightful conversation took place between CardioNerds Ambassador, Dr. Hanad Bashir, and renowned heart failure specialist, Prof. William Abraham, from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. In the interview, they delved into a new study focusing on speech analysis applications that are designed to detect worsening heart failure events in ambulatory patients. The study involved symptomatic heart failure patients, using a speech-processing algorithm to predict future heart failure events with remarkable sensitivity and specificity. In the interview, Prof. Abraham emphasized the urgency for innovative solutions in heart failure care due to the limitations of current monitoring methods. The good news is that our patient-centric "HearO" app outperformed traditional methods like daily weight monitoring in early detection of heart failure decompensation. The study is still in progress, with an ongoing US FDA pivotal trial, aiming to further validate and refine this promising technology. Prof. Abraham highlighted the crucial next steps for the app, including FDA approval and developing effective treatment algorithms responsive to the app’s alerts. Our technology represents a new paradigm in heart failure management - combining advanced AI with practical, patient-friendly monitoring. Watch now to learn more and be sure to join us in celebrating these innovative strides in cardiology, paving the way for more proactive and personalized patient care.
