DYK: 12% of medical school faculty reported they are likely to retire in the next one to two years, and an additional 26% of faculty reported being somewhat likely, likely, or highly likely to leave their medical school in the next one to two years. Faculty engagement & retention are critical issues that medical school leadership needs to understand and regularly assess because faculty members are one of their most valuable resources. In addition to being a tool for individual medical schools, StandPoint Faculty Engagement Surveys’ data have been used to understand the workplace experiences of faculty across the academic medicine community.
