Tasmanian greyhound racing clubs are deeply integrated into the local community, actively supporting a wide array of grassroots organisations and initiatives. In Hobart, the Greyhound Racing Club has embraced local sporting clubs by hosting sporting clubs challenge nights that benefit a variety of clubs across sports ranging from AFL to netball, offering both direct sponsorships and opportunities to win additional funding. Similarly, the Launceston Club enriches the community with race days tailored for aged care residents, creating memorable social experiences. Moreover, a collective initiative across Tasmanian clubs culminated in a generous $35,220 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charity, significantly enhancing the support facilities for families of children undergoing medical treatments in Hobart. These initiatives underline the greyhound racing industry’s dedication to nurturing and giving back to the communities they operate in, reinforcing their role as key players in building and sustaining local community spirit. A little 'inside baseball' for how a Rally North America event works. 80+ cars line up in a smallish town (think Erie, PA or Knoxville, TN) on a sunny weekday morning - come to think of it, I've never been on a starting grid where it was raining - listen to a rallying introduction from our organizers and that town's leadership, and then get in our cars, waiting for the coveted Clue Card for the day and the green flag. Local news crews recording as we take off, one by one. Pictured is one of those Clue Cards - this from our 2016 Big Sky Rally which ran from Billings, MT to Portland, OR. As you can see, each checkpoint is described with just a clue and an image. We have to figure out what it is, where it is, and how to get there more quickly than the other 79 cars' occupants. While respecting traffic laws, mind you; a ticket is an instant DQ. Our place in the starting grid is dictated by how much money we raise for the charity that year. In 2012, I secured pole position with approximately $3500 raised. By now, pole position requires more than $20,000 in donations. We are that serious about the cause. I'm usually good now for about $8,000 - though I'm behind in my efforts so far this year. Please help me out by hitting Like and, if you think the cause worthy, repost to your networks. All donations, large or small, are hugely appreciated and roundly celebrated. My goal for this week is to raise $250 through our donation page, which is linked below. All proceeds go directly to Camp Sunshine and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes. 🏕 ☀ This post is related to Rally North America's 2024 Sunshine Rally. As we do nearly every year, my wife and I are participating under the team name Slightly Lost. Our goal is to raise as much money for the chosen #charity as we possibly can; please help us make a difference for the kids at Camp Sunshine by contributing at our Team Page. Link in the Comments. For more information, or if you represent a business that would like to get exposure during the event, DM me. #fundraising #foragoodcause #rallynorthamerica #campsunshine #slightlylost661

This is my son Ben, Ben sadly lost his life in july 2022 whilst on holiday with his family This left all who new him devastated and empty. As a family we decided to raise money for the local rugby Leigh East the team Ben played for to allow all 14 years old's thru to and including open age to get heart screening which helped detect some abnormalities and saved other families go thru the same devastating loss as ourselves. Bens uncle and his friends are this year doing a grueling challenge to help raise money to do the same for Bens cousins team and other at the Golborne Parkside arlfc club. This is such an important showcase for emerging technology to protect players from harm. Thanks to Unispace we have helped move real solutions into the sports world. It’s out there protecting players in real time. One of our past presenters is coming back to update us on global sales and the number of athletes protected. Then there are three new innovations to showcase. What are they? Watch this space… Simon Shaw MBE as ever, leading by example. Michelle Elkins and Stuart Bagshaw the powerhouses that drive progress
We’re thrilled to partner with the charity Love of the Game for the third consecutive year for an event in October alongside Holland & Holland, championing concussion awareness in sports. We recently spoke with Simon Shaw, president of the charity and former rugby player, about their incredible work. Simon shared, “I started Love of the Game to drive awareness and funding of solutions that can prevent, diagnose, and treat concussion in sport, not just rugby, but all sports.” Check out the full article to learn from Simon about their mission and what’s next for the charity: https://lnkd.in/e96UhzFH #SparkBrilliance #LoveOfTheGame #ConcussionAwareness #SportsSafety #Charity Michelle Elkins Robin Dey Rob Frank

Hello LinkedIn community! As some of you may know, I have recented rejoined the Canadian Tire family to become an Associate Dealer. I am currently in training (not cycling as much, so this should be interesting), I look forward to join a great group of peers and to support the amazing initiatives that this company undertakes. Jumpstart has always impressed me by the impact it has in communities across Canada and the support it offers for kids to have a chance to participate in sports activities. I am asking for your support as I prepare to ride in Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities' Pedal for Kids event in June. Jumpstart’s tireless efforts bring joy, inspiration, and hope to children and communities nationwide. Here's how you can help: 1. Donate: Any amount, big or small, will go a long way in helping Jumpstart provide opportunities for kids who may not otherwise have access to them. Your contribution will directly impact their lives and bring smiles to their faces. Please visit my fundraising page here: https://lnkd.in/gW8Xy3vh 2. Share the word: Even if you're unable to contribute financially at the moment, your support can still make a difference. 3. Join us: If you're interested and available, consider coming out for a ride and we can raise funds that will make a lasting impact on children's lives. I understand that times are tough, and many families are facing financial difficulties due to current economic headwinds. However, it is precisely during these times that Jumpstart's work becomes even more crucial. If you have any questions or would like more information about Jumpstart or the Pedal for Kids event, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you so much for considering my request and for your ongoing support.
