⚓ Safety First: Protecting Lives at Sea. As a Life Raft Technician at SEAFLOAT MARINE SERVICES LTD., let me spill the beans on what our daily mission is all about: keeping our seafaring friends safe and sound. Imagine this: life rafts are not just bouncy structures; they're the superhero capes of sailors. And guess what? It's our job to make sure those capes are in good shape, ready for action for emergencies. Every day on the job is like being a guardian of the ocean, armed with a toolkit instead of a sword. We meticulously inspect and satisfy these rafts, making sure they're as tough as a sailor facing a storm. From inflatable chambers to intricate release buttons, we've got it covered! It's not just a profession; it's a commitment to those who earn their livelihood on the ocean waves. We function as the behind-the-scenes crew, ensuring a seamless continuation of the maritime performance. In a realm where safety holds the highest priority, we stand as the uncelebrated heroes in the background. Our dedication sends waves of assurance, quality and constructing a safety shield for our seafaring companions. ⚓🌊 #SeaSafety #LifeRaftTechnician #SeafloatMarine.

The situation report is part of our routine check on our seafarers, as seafarers we need a safe space to lay our stress and burdens, seafarers undergo a lot of pressure and stress which is not spoken of most times they can't even share with shipmates because they might be facing same hence it is important we hear and check on ourselves share achievements, progress and challenges whilst we listen to others proffer possible solutions as they are likely to have faced same. #seafarers #sea #marine #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters

Maritime pilot at Nederlands Loodswezen, Scheldemonden Check the various ‘1000-ways’ articles on safety and pilot transfer arrangements.
A windy, rainy and sometimes sunny workweek came and went: it is time for the WEEKLY LADDER MISERY!! I piloted 13 ships this week and only 2 had a compliant setup (thank you MSC TAMISHKA F and CORAL SIDERIA), 11 needed rectification prior to using them, a very disturbing number. I cannot put all photos in this post because Linkedin only allows 9, but the nc’s varied between incorrect retrieval lines, dangerous stanchions, a decktongue and incorrect rolling hitches (the notorious shoelace method). Even saw a vessel with manropes, which is rather uncommon in my area so I asked advice to Steve Banks on that one (tnx Steve). Furthermore I would like to draw attention to the report on securing ladders at intermediate lengths, which you can find in my feed. Pls stay safe everyone! #dangerousladders #weeklyladdermisery #shipping European Maritime Safety Agency European Maritime Pilots' Association (EMPA) International Maritime Pilots' Association (IMPA) New Zealand Maritime Pilots' Association Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI) Kevin Vallance Ignacio Chofré David Willows David Patraiko, FNI James Foong Maria Dixon Yrhen Bernard Balinis, AMNIS, SIMarEST Agnieszka Przytula Adam Roberts Adam Parnell Julia Gosling www.pilotladdersafety.com (Herman Broers ) www.chirp.co.uk facebook: dangerousladders
