Breaking: The Censis classifics for Italian Universities 2024/2025 declares Università di Trento again 1st in the class of middle-sized State universities! How does this work? It's the evaluation of State and Non-State universities based on available #facilities, services provided, #scholarships, level of #internationalization, communication and #employability. The #teaching rankings of the three year degrees are also available, single cycle courses and tow year master classes according to the career progression of students and international relations. Why do we at COSBI care? Because we have three full professors and one adjunct professor among our staff, and 11 alumni of the Università di Trento work with us. And further collaborations are on their way: PhDs starting 2024 are being selected right in these days and internships are already fixed! I've been a university professor for 12 years. During this time, I've found good ways to help students do amazing things and go beyond what they think is possible. (I basically do what my professors did with us undergrads at Instituto Balseiro) Here's how I help them: 1. Start Research Early: I encourage students to begin research as early as possible. 2. Do One-Year Projects: I give them projects they can finish in one year. 3. Present Abroad: I help them show their work at meetings in other countries. 4. Write Papers: I teach them how to write their first research paper. 5. Try International Programs: I gently push them to try internships or schools in other countries. What happens? Students who follow this plan usually finish their undergraduate degree with: * A published research paper * Experience speaking at a meeting in another country * Time spent learning or doing research abroad This helps students decide what they want to do after college, whether it's more school or a job. Of course, all this can be done given the privilege I have to work at Facultad de Ciencias Uniandes, that manages to attract top students all over the country. #CollegeEducation #StudentSuccess #TeachingTips #ResearchSkills

Erasmus Scholar 2023 | Nuclear Fusion and Engineering Physics (Fusion-EP) | University of Stuttgart | 150K+ impressions
Why I chose to do my second year of Masters (M2) at Aix-Marseille University? First of all, I’m happy to share that I’ve started my M2. For those who don't know, I am an Erasmus Mundus Scholar, and, in such programs, you spend one year/one semester of Masters at one university in one European country and another year in another university in some other country. There are a few reasons why I chose this university! 1. This site provides an environment full of people that are into Fusion. Moreover, this site is close to ITER Organization, and my professors that teach us are from Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA), Cadarache, France. Therefore, it's a wonderful place to build strong connections and build networks with highly experienced professors and scientists. 2. Being at the university, I am allowed to do my thesis anywhere in Europe. Therefore, I wanted to explore that option as well, which has, by the grace of God, worked in my favor and got me a great position for a master thesis internship, which I will reveal soon depending on how fast my paperwork finishes. 3. After talking with previous year students, I found the courses are taught well and the subjects offered are very much in my interest, which are important for my knowledge as well as my master thesis. 4. In terms of future opportunities, which I haven't thought of much, but I have some things in mind that definitely will require a good network. So, I believe I am at a good place. 5. Last but not least, the people I'm here with are very nice; they like to go to parties and adventures, which I'm really intrigued by, but I want people to initiate, and then I can join. So, I've found them here, and I'm very happy!

𝐒𝐨, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐃? Before you make that leap, ask yourself: 1) Does the department excel in your subfield of interest? 2) Are there at least three PIs with whom you’d be eager to collaborate? 3) Does the program require teaching, and how do you feel about that? 4) Does the program guarantee funding throughout the duration of your Ph.D.? 5) Does the program offer professional development opportunities that align with your career aspirations? 6) Can you envision yourself residing in the program’s city or geographic region? 7) Is the Ph.D. stipend provided by the institution sufficient for the cost of living in the area?
