I am excited to share my BEng dissertation- 'Multi-Attribute Decision Making for the Design of a Naval Surface Combatant'. The project explores the use of MADM methods to address design challenges and trade-offs during the design of a multi-role naval vessel. Using a basis ship I had previously designed, I optimised attributes such as Radar Cross Section, Calm Water Resistance, Seakeeping in Irregular Waves, and Damaged Stability. Utilisation of MADM processes aid designers in efficient decision making , helping them highlight consequences of design in a whole ship view and make clear and objective decisions. #engineering #navalarchitecture #MADM #NavalDesign
