#Thailand On July 3, 2024, the Thai Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) officially approved the amendments to the country's cosmetic ingredient lists, following a period of public consultation that lasted from February 22, 2024 to March 7, 2024. Effective on July 4, 2024⏳, these amendments align Thailand's #cosmetic regulations with updates to the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive adopted during the 38th #ASEAN Cosmetic Scientific Body (ACSB) Meeting. Details of the amendments📝 are as follows: ✅ Adding a new entry of Diethyltoluamide (DEET) in the List of Prohibited Ingredients. ✅ Adding a new entry of "Bis-(Diethylaminohydroxybenzoyl Benzoyl) Piperazine," including its nano form, in the List of Permitted #Sunscreen. ✅ Revising the use requirements for the permitted colorant CI 45430 in the List of Permitted Colorants. 📢 MFDS Improves Reporting of Ingredient Lists for Custom Cosmetics The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has revised the "Regulations on Reporting Production and Import Performance and Ingredient Lists of Cosmetics" to allow for the reporting of ingredient lists by product group for various customized cosmetics. The revision was announced on June 14. Through this revision, custom cosmetics sellers can now report the ingredient lists of custom cosmetics by grouping them into one product category if the base material is the same, even if the product names differ. Previously, they had to report the ingredients for each product individually. The revised regulations will apply to the reporting of custom cosmetics ingredient lists sold in 2024. Various cosmetics stability and evaluation guidelines have been released for public comment by China's National Institute for Food & Drug Control (NIFDC). They cover preservative challenge tests, compatibility between packaging and product as well as skin sensitization and stability testing. The deadline to submit comments is April 17, 2024. On April 10, 2024, #China National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) initiated a public consultation on four technical guidelines📋 concerning cosmetics #safetyassessment. These documents focus on stability testing, preservative challenge testing, packaging compatibility testing, and skin sensitization testing. Following the consultation period, on July 8, 2024, NIFDC released the finalized guidelines along with relevant Q&As, offering more comprehensive guidance on the safety assessment of #cosmetics and cosmetic ingredients.
