𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Being a Mother is no easy feat. Today, as we celebrate the remarkable women who have shaped our lives with their love, sacrifice, and unwavering support, it's difficult to put into words just how extraordinary mothers truly are. There are countless stories, incidents, and examples that illustrate the sheer greatness of mothers, yet it's a feat that often defies description. One of the most remarkable qualities of a mother is her ability to sacrifice without expecting anything in return. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐥𝐲. From the moment they hold their child in their arms, they dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to nurturing, guiding, and protecting, all without seeking recognition or reward. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Not all mothers are perfect; they make mistakes, they stumble, and they learn along the way. Yet, in the eyes of their children, they are nothing short of perfection. It's a testament to the depth of love that transcends flaws and imperfections, creating a bond that is unbreakable and everlasting. Today, let's honor and celebrate all mothers, not just for their endless sacrifices or unwavering love, but for simply being who they are – imperfectly perfect in the eyes of those they cherish most. Happy Mother's Day! 🌸 #MothersDay #UnconditionalLove #CelebratingMoments

Title: Celebrating Motherhood Through History In 1957, Ibuzin and her husband Babul welcomed a baby boy into their lives, naming him Naog Nicodemus—a joyous moment marking the start of a new chapter in their family's story. Throughout history, mothers have epitomized happiness upon welcoming the next generation. Just like Hannah from the Bible, who fervently prayed for a child and eventually gave birth to Samuel, mothers often embody resilience and devotion. From the very beginning, the divine command to Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:27-28 to "be fruitful and multiply" illustrates the sacredness and importance of motherhood in human existence. For guidance and inspiration, women can turn to Proverbs chapter 31, which extols the virtues of a capable and industrious woman, highlighting the multifaceted roles mothers play in managing households and even businesses. In closing, it's crucial for husbands to support and empower their wives in fulfilling their potential, recognizing and valuing their contributions not only within the family but also in broader societal spheres.

I felt this in my soul. As mothers and caregivers, we often feel silenced about the sacrifices we make. We’re told we chose this path, and that somehow disqualifies us from expressing dissatisfaction or feeling overwhelmed. But many women don’t choose this specific reality of motherhood as it’s often portrayed (the romanticized version). We face the stress of daily life as working mothers and somehow still manage to get it done. Motherhood is not a one-size-fits-all experience. We can’t compare ourselves to that one woman who seems to thrive in both career and family life because we often don’t know the full story behind her success. We pour our energy into what truly matters, but in trying to balance everything, we often feel like we’re falling short. The truth is, like Sarah, it has also cost me. My mental health, stretched thin by endless to-do lists and constant worry in my home AND in my career. My physical health, compromised by sleepless nights and the stress of trying to be everything for everyone in my personal life and my career life. Time as a caregiver, stolen by work deadlines and the pressure to keep it all together. Time as a partner, as nurturing my relationship often takes a backseat to the demands of everyday life. Time for myself, which feels like a luxury I can’t afford in the chaos of it all. When others tell me the spend the day or weekend getting ahead, learning something new that is going to help them get promoted, there is a little bit of resentment because deep down I wish I had those hours too, instead of using those same hours to stay afloat. Then again, I chose this. Oh, and, God forbid I get caught taking a break because that comes with a set of conversations. We worry about not providing enough, and if we work more, we’re sacrificing precious time with our kids. We strive to parent better than we were parented, often on little sleep, all while managing expenses, protecting our children, and breaking generational cycles. We’re trying our best to discipline our kids, nurture friendships, prioritize our partners, heal ourselves, and succeed in our careers. It’s essential to recognize that our well-being matters. We need to give ourselves grace and compassion. The superpowers we bring to the table are incredible, but they come at a cost. Taylor Swift says, "I can do it with a broken heart" We say, "we can do it while we are burnt out" At the end of the day, it takes a village. The village is not just for our kids, someone offering to pickup the kids from school etc. The village is also the space for those who choose the journey of motherhood/caregiving to be able to talk openly about our struggles and support one another in this journey. Your being is an essential part of this world. Put yourself and your wellbeing first. Fill up your cup first so you can give to others from what overflows. To society: We deserve to thrive, not just survive. #women #caregivers #motherhood #mentalhealth

Mother's Day is a heartfelt celebration dedicated to honoring mothers and motherhood. It's a day where we express our gratitude, love, and appreciation for the incredible women who have nurtured, cared for, and supported us throughout our lives. Whether it's our biological mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, or maternal figures, Mother's Day is a time to reflect on the profound impact these remarkable women have had on shaping who we are. The origins of Mother's Day can be traced back to ancient civilizations, where maternal figures were revered and celebrated. However, the modern Mother's Day as we know it emerged in the early 20th century thanks to the efforts of Anna Jarvis in the United States. Her campaign to establish a day dedicated to honoring mothers gained widespread support, and in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially designated the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. On Mother's Day, people often express their love and appreciation through various gestures, such as giving flowers, cards, gifts, or spending quality time together. It's a day filled with warm sentiments, where families gather to honor mothers and create lasting memories. But Mother's Day is not just about celebrating individual mothers; it's also a reminder of the importance of maternal love, sacrifice, and the invaluable role that mothers play in society. It's a time to acknowledge the often selfless dedication and unconditional love that mothers shower upon their children. However, it's essential to recognize that Mother's Day can be a bittersweet occasion for some. For those who have lost their mothers or are estranged from them, Mother's Day can evoke feelings of grief, longing, or loneliness. It's crucial to offer support and understanding to those who may find this day difficult. Ultimately, Mother's Day serves as a beautiful reminder to cherish and honor the extraordinary women who have shaped our lives with their love, wisdom, and unwavering support. It's a day to celebrate the remarkable bond between mothers and their children, acknowledging the profound impact that maternal love has on shaping individuals and society as a whole.

As we approach Mother's Day, it's important to reflect on the essence of this celebration — a heartfelt homage to the profound influence of mothers in our lives and society. The inception of Mother's Day in the United States is attributed to Anna Jarvis, who, inspired by her own mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis's altruistic deeds, initiated a movement to commemorate the selfless love of all mothers. Ann Reeves Jarvis's legacy as a community activist, organizing "Mother's Work Days" to educate on child-rearing and sanitation, paved the way for the notion of a dedicated day for mothers. On May 10, 1908, Anna Jarvis's advocacy bore fruit with the first official Mother's Day events in Grafton, West Virginia, and Philadelphia, each one echoing her vision of an intimate, family-oriented celebration. This intimate sentiment, however, faced the tides of commercialization as the holiday gained popularity. The initial idea of personalized tributes gave way to widespread consumerism, a shift that deeply troubled Jarvis throughout her life as she witnessed her authentic vision being overshadowed by profit-driven motives. Despite such struggles, the spirit of Mother's Day as a time to honor maternal bonds and acknowledge the sacrifices and contributions of mothers has persevered. Across the globe, the day has various interpretations, from the United Kingdom's Mothering Sunday to other international observances, each embodying unique historical and cultural significance. Today, professionals should take a moment to consider how Mother's Day aligns with broader goals of social responsibility and personal acknowledgment. In any industry, the values of care, empathy, and appreciation hold immense power. Recognizing the role of mothers transcends commercial transactions, tapping into the universality of gratitude and respect. As we celebrate Mother's Day, let it serve as a reminder of the strength and resilience instilled in us by influential figures like mothers. It is incumbent upon us to honor these relationships not only through tokens of appreciation but also by embodying the virtues they have imparted. The future of this celebration lies in our hands, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure its integrity remains intact for generations to come. Monday's Pondering🌷🪻🌺 "I am the daughter of a daughter. Who is the daughter of a daughter. Who is also the daughter of a daughter. Some of us are mothers but all of us are daughters, all birthed through lines that weave back to that First Mother. All connected from the very beginning. All connected in the now. Mothers, Daughters, Grandmothers, Great Grandmothers, Great Great Grandmothers. All daughters born from One. Original. Egg. From One. Original. Woman. So why the separation? Why the animosity toward each other? Why the arguing and fighting, back-stabbing and lack of support? The next time you see another woman, look in her eyes and see the Ancestral Lines, the lines of Women that lead back to you. Where are we going Mother? And how will we get there Sister? By staying connected Daughter and allowing for difference. For we are each one, after all, all Daughters of Daughters of Daughters of our One Mother." 🌹 Arlene Bailey, The Daughter Line, 2020 🎨 Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May, 1909 John William Waterhouse Artist (1849-1917) (Thank you, Elizabeth Williams Froslev, for sharing this). .
