Values Education Our education system today and it's arms - schools, collages and universities focus primarily on skills. None of the institutions teach Values. Values are equally important for a child to grow into a responsible adult, progress in career and valuable participant of the society. Sadly, Values Education is not given the importance it deserves. Therefore, I have been striving to incorporate Values Education into conventional teaching. In the picture we see a teachers training session on Values Education and its incorporation into subject teaching in progress. The participants were govt school teachers of students studying in grades I to X. This interactive training session was organised by YFS, Hyderabad Chapter. Teachers did participate with lot of focus and learnt the session inputs through active participation. If teachers engage themselves in learning and implementing new pedagogic practices, students not only improve academically but will be grateful to teachers for giving newer opportunities. Kuddos to these enthusiastic teachers!

The VIT undertakes its functions in accordance with the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 to regulate for a highly qualified, proficient and reputable teaching profession. This means we regulate teachers across all systems and sectors: teaching professionals in government, independent and Catholic systems across primary, secondary and early childhood sectors. Indiana colleagues-the state is proposing new high school diplomas starting with the class of 2029 (current 7th graders). Public comment is open. Please review the proposal and share you thoughts with DOE and the state board of education. Indiana is now ranked 50th (yes the bottom) for the number of school counselors per student (we have 1 counselor for every 694 students in this state according to the American School Counseling Association). Connecting students to the options in these diplomas will require adequate counseling and corporate/school partnerships. Here are the proposed changes https://lnkd.in/gEipK_ib Here is the comment form https://lnkd.in/gN32f-Vr

How can we help our students - all students - benefit from a more robust, diverse, well trained and supported teacher workforce? As I shared at the PA Latino Convention today, through the work of Edifying Teachers, we believe this calls for action at three levels - here’s our latest video showing how we’re working to help education improve through what we call the 3 Ps: Practice, Promotion, and Policy, including a recent exchange with Gov. Wes Moore👇🏽 #HispanicHeritageMonth #1MTOC #WeAreEdLoC #PALC

New Position Statement — Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs: Opportunities and Access for All In this new position statement, SHAPE America recommends that all schools implement a Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP). A CSPAP provides educators, administrators, and schools with the guidance they need to promote equitable and inclusive academic, social-emotional, and physical development for all students. The link between private school education and career success……. On the one hand, there are many excellent state schools across the country where children achieve outstanding results. They go on to pursue a university education and have successful careers. On the other hand, the 6-7% of pupils who go to private school are far more likely to get a place at Oxford or Cambridge Universities than their state school counterparts – around 30% of Oxbridge places go to privately educated students. A private school education also gives more favourable odds for your child holding a position in the cabinet or chairing a FTSE 100 company. However, some studies suggest it’s a child’s personality that makes the most difference, and that independent schools simply pick the children with the right attributes for success. Interestingly, when drawing a comparison between selective fee-paying schools and state grammar schools, the gaps in attainment close. https://lnkd.in/ezsA_H24
