Is 3 years old too young to learn about fragrance? Absolutely not… and we proved this at the London Science Museum 📚 Across the 28th and 29th May, the CPL Aromas team collaborated with The Fragrance Foundation UK to demonstrate to a new audience of 3-17 year olds how science and fragrance go hand in hand. Our latest Scented Session ‘A Fragrant Journey’ by CPL took guests on a journey through fragrance creation, starting with raw materials right through to end products. Attracting around 6000 people - it was a huge success! 🌟 #CPLAromas #ScentedSessions #Fragrance #Careerinfragrance #Education #Perfumery #ScienceMuseum

One of the goals behind the new Creative Campus is to take care of the existing space in Segovia, which is why the campus will be held in the refurbished Palacio de Mansilla. In this video, Romina Canna, Professor at IE University and Director of the d-Lab, explains the importance of using existing space when committing to a sustainable build. 🎬 🎥 K U R Å T - T O C H E R I S H A N D C H E W O N Free spot in your diary on Friday May 3, 5.30pm GMT? If so, save it for our première / exhibition. Here’s why ... DCP = AMAZING PROGRAM | This DCP started in spring 2023. I came to London for the first of five seasons. One season means four days of intensive learning at The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations. In between we met online; participants, staff and artists. #DeepeningCreativePractice – seeing, hearing, feeling, meeting yourself and each other. Imagining and discovering inner and outer worlds; putting impressions to work. We explored who we are and what role art can play in our temporary organisation and elsewhere. Right now we're working towards the exhibiting season. LETTING THINGS EMERGE | Our themes grew organically: climate change, racism, inside/outside, death of creativity, movement, leadership, authority, group decisions, authenticity etc. Just as we thought we could make a step, something occurred and pulled us right back in the process of not grasping. The art of letting things emerge. Taking a step back, sharing dreams and thoughts. Sculptures of paper and clay, body movements and voice stretching. Making curatorial suggestions and dancing around them, sometimes endlessly. Discussing and laughing; singing and sighing, just saying nothing. Walking and wondering what we actually want. Doing fieldwork outside and listening deeply to what there is to hear. WHAT WE TAKE HOME | I found this course quite a challenge and absolutely rich in variety. Each time in a different setting, saying yes or no to various thoughts and new perspectives. Adjusting the programme, taking a pause, carefully looking at words and phrases. Who are we and what can we create together? As human beings, organisations, cultures ... as a whole. We shared an incredible year together and made a short movie: Kuråt - a devil’s creative practice, if you will. A dive into a world we did not know before, using our insights and talents. A co-production that provides us with material to cherish and chew on. And a backpack full of inspiration to take back home and to our workspace. PREMIÈRE & POPCORN | Do come and join us on Friday May 3. We take you on a unique DCP-tour - reflecting and sharing together. And of course it’s a première with popcorn, plus other popping activities if you join online. ❤️ We’d love to meet you! Check and book your ticket:

A new interactive platform has been launched on our website. https://lnkd.in/dX7VD4QF The blog was created to communicate information and establish a two-way communication channel. This dedicated section is employed for pursuing continuous engagement with updated materials and research. We invite interested parties (managers, practitioners, team leaders, etc.) to contribute content regarding their experiences of current challenges that GLAMs and CCIs face (due to the pandemic or more generally) and successful ways to tackle them and adjust. In GLAMMONS, the Members of the Consortium will commit resources to ensure active maintenance of the platform (also beyond the end of the project), and that it will continue to serve as a valuable source for related research. To start, we propose an article entitled "Transforming Insights: Adapting GLAMs to a Commons Framework" introducing a fresh perspective on Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAMs), framing them as potential commons, shared spaces produced and managed by their communities. Be the first to comment and open the discussion! #horizoneurope #researchimpacteu #glammons

SCELSE’s Annual Scientific Retreat 2023 saw around 180 staff and students plus members of our Scientific Advisory Board coming together for two days of scientific talks, diverse workshops, and team-building games to foster knowledge and team synergy, and networking over posters and snacks – with a focus on laying the groundwork for SCELSE beyond its 15 years. The retreat unfolded as a transformative exploration, propelling the institute beyond its 15 years as an RCE. Centre director, Prof Alain Filloux set the tone with a welcome address, assuring members of SCELSE’s continuation and charting the centre’s future vision. "As we gather at this remarkable retreat, the SCELSE team stands at the forefront of a transformative journey, highlighted by our commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration. With a focus on the past, present, and future, we recognize that microbes and microbial communities hold the key to addressing Singapore's major challenges. As we chart a course beyond our 15 years, SCELSE envisions becoming a beacon of multidisciplinary research, and a driving force for the nation's strategic pillars. Together, we will continue to be inclusive, and collaborative, at the forefront of basic and translational research, ensuring that SCELSE not only puts Singapore on the map but shapes a bright and impactful future for microbiology and beyond," said Prof Alain Filloux. Last week, I gave a presentation on a new study from the INVENT project at the Etmaal 2024 conference in Rotterdam. The conference is the largest yearly Communication Science conference in the Netherlands and Flanders, and is visited by more than 300 media scholars, educators and practitioners. The presentation was titled: “Media Use, Cultural Orientations and Support for Right-Wing Populist Political Parties: Comparing Nine European Countries”. Using the INVENT survey data, the paper studies how media use and cultural orientations predict right-wing populist voting from a cross-national perspective. https://lnkd.in/gThjzPtv
