Dublin School Plans Major Transformation: A Taste of the Future in Fairview Here's an exciting piece of news for Dubliners! St. Joseph’s CBS Secondary School, under the Edmund Rice Schools Trust, is taking a big leap into the future. More classrooms, modern facilities, and even a sensory garden are part of the blueprint for this major refurbishment project. The school, located in the heart of Fairview, is set to gain three general classrooms, a home economics room, a multimedia room, and improved toilet facilities. Locker space and an electrical room are also part of the plan. And for those concerned with accessibility, a universal access toilet is on the cards too. St. Joseph’s isn’t just thinking about the here and now. The project also includes the refurbishment and reconfiguration of existing rooms to make way for a four-classroom SEN base with a multi-activity room. But the cherry on top? A 200 m2 hard and soft play area and a 100 m2 sensory garden, adding an extra touch of nature and tranquillity to the school environment. Now, for the numbers: the upgraded school will have a main floor area of 527.5 m2 and a gross floor area, including circulation and internal walls, of 598.0m2. While all this sounds impressive, the project will also involve knocking down the existing covered shelter of 210m2. In its place, the school promises to offer students state-of-the-art amenities that will make their learning experience more engaging and enjoyable. 🚧 Will the refurbishment cause any disruption to the current students? 🌿 How does the school plan to maintain the sensory garden? 🏰 Isn't it about time other schools followed suit and created more inclusive learning environments? #SchoolTransformation #EducationInnovation #Tender #PublicProcurement If you would like to see more detail on this particular tender, please click: https://lnkd.in/gUA8ruyV

When doing regular maintenance and upgrades, does your campus consider student sensory needs? Now that students are (mostly) cleared out of dorm spaces - it is a great time to consider the needs of the new cohort who will be joining you in the fall. Making spaces sensory friendly is important for #inclusion and #accessibility. Don't leave some students behind. Become Unstuckable™! Transformational Speaker | Author | Fall in love with your Life, Business and Educational Leadership again.
As the new school year approaches, the pressure to create a welcoming environment for your students is real. But here's a thought—are you leaving money on the table by letting your teachers handle classroom decor? One year, with barely any time between camp and the start of the school year, I was advised by a seasoned regional director: "To make a strong first impression on parents, 3 things need to be spotless: the floor, the windows, and… the walls!" The truth is, the walls in your classroom speak volumes. Yet, your teachers are spending time, energy, and your budget trying to make the decor look just right. The outcome? Often, it's mediocre decor that doesn't stand up to the wear and tear of active children. This is where you can make a smart change. Instead of relying on your teachers to handle decor, consider investing in durable, cheerful, and easy-to-maintain classroom decor. Not only can this save money in the long run, but it also frees up your teachers to focus on what they do best—nurturing and educating young minds. Take a closer look at your current spending on classroom materials and decor. You might be surprised to find that our solutions are not only more cost-effective but also help create a truly welcoming environment for your students, effortlessly. Let's connect and discuss how we can help you save time, money, and energy while upgrading your classrooms for the new school year. Your teachers—and your budget—will thank you! #preschooleducation #classroomdecor #Preschooldirectors #Daycarecentersdirectors #earlychildhoodeducators #Unstuckableforeducators #classsroomdecor ---------------------- 🙋♀️ Hi, I'm Rachel. Did you know over half of all U.S. public schools are in need of renovations, the cost of which is estimated at nearly $200 billion? But how can jurisdictions make the case for investing in school modernization, and what guidance is there for designers and school districts to effectively spend the forecasted billions of modernization dollars to achieve their core mission of educating children for life in the 21st century? I’m so pleased to announce there’s new research available to help! I teamed with some amazing colleagues at Perkins Eastman and Drexel University to conduct the “Addressing a Multi-Billion Dollar Challenge” study, sponsored by The American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows #LatrobePrize and J+J Flooring. We found that modernized schools outperformed non-modernized schools in a statistically significant manner across multiple factors.
