Innovation in the DAI arena has proven to be a positive game-changer for the Marine Corps.    Using MS Access and VBA, Significance created a customized solution for the Marine Corps’ Fiscal Codes Configuration Control Board. This tool entirely automated a critical process used to load financial structure data in DAI. Prior to implementing our automation tool, validating this specific data set used to take months of work and effort, and be rife with the possibility of errors as an entirely manual process. “All that data, many terabytes from each mission, are recorded in real time on a hard drive stored on the aircraft”….. Huh?? One of the most sophisticated military departments in the world can’t figure out how to manage their data? They have data overload. They can’t even get to the analysis paralysis stage because they can’t develop an ETL to make it consumeable. It is just gonna sit there and rot. By the time someone gets around to it, it’s stale and probably not even actionable. Why even record the data points if you aren’t gonna bother using it. Data analysis is what drives our world. Someone needs to step up….
