I am excited and in disbelief at the same time. For the last couple of weeks I put my head down to look into research about Women's Wellbeing. There is such a big unaddressed gender and frankly knowledge gap. I know so many incredible, professional women, who are making such a difference in the world and for others and at the same time are struggling to put more self-care into their own lives. What message does this send out to the young women and girls??? There is so much information out there on wellbeing. It almost makes one feel guilty for not having mastered it yet. Frankly, there is a lot Wellbeing BS out there as well, and often it does not fit to female health needs or it isn't sound. As deeper I dive, as more I understand there is more to the story than just our lack of perseverance or inability to say "no", or adding more yoga, mindfulness and bubbles baths ( I see the irony...me being a passionate yogini.) My conclusion is, if we really want to enhance our wellbeing, a) we need to understand more what the barriers are and b) what we can do to proactively addressing them in the system and in our head c) we need to learn and apply a specific set of tools and d) we need to support each other in this endeavour. That's why the idea of this course came into existence. I am right in the middle of crafting it: every video I shoot, every audio I record, every resource I study or add is for you ladies. I have you in mind. It is not gonna bring the ultimate solution, but it is giving us all a start to be more aware, more assertive and louder about our wellbeing. I strongly belief we need to join forces here for our sake and for the sake of the younger ones. Let's do this. By the way, this is a first step, the second is a retreat on exactly that topic.... If you are interested and want to learn more about the course and the topic send me a message or comment. Also send this onto your sisters. Registration is starting soon. A new project on South Tyneside will provide direct support for women – with the aim of empowering them to improve their health and wellbeing through the power of physical activity. The Women’s Wellbeing Project is a partnership between Rise, voluntary organisation Women’s Health in South Tyneside (WHiST) and South Tyneside Council. Charlotte O’Keefe has joined Rise as the key worker and will provide a holistic one-to-one support for women to improve their health and wellbeing through a range of activities and support. The aim is to improve physical and mental wellbeing so women can start to contemplate employment. Charlotte said: “This is a great way for women to get one to one support, in a safe, women-only space to help them to improve their wellbeing, confidence or skills. “I can help with accessing practical support with benefits or housing, help women to find the support that they need to improve their health or find activities that help improve wellbeing or skills. What they want to work on and how is entirely up to them - but I’ll be with them every step of the way.” Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ePGdh6_X

Helping build Wellbeing Cultures & Communities | Founder The Wellbeing Pathway| Author & Podcaster Wisdom of Wellbeing | Facilitator | Accredited BLR Coach | Keynote Speaker | 🔴 TEDx Curator
📌 Courage & Fear 📌 Thank you Women's Aid Armagh Down for inviting The Wellbeing Pathway®back to deliver our Reset & Refocus Wellbeing Programme over the next four weeks. I love weaving in learning from the Breathe, Laugh, Relax training that I completed last year, helping to create and hold a safe space for the group, supporting each other as we reset and refocus at a pace that works for everyone. Although my work is focused on empowerment, growth and stepping out of our comfort zones, I am not a big fan of the 'feel the fear and do it anyway' instruction. In my experience it is helpful to explore and understand the fear (with appropriate support) alongside taking small, courageous steps and allowing the glimmers of light in. These are the actions that will help build strong wellbeing practices for a better life. As the wonderful Susan David, Ph.D. puts it - "Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is fear walking" #courage #fear #connections #community #wellbeing

Unapologetic supporter of small, local, independent business and community. Social connectivity and events matter. Creating a great experience for the community and your customers is invaluable.
On the third Monday of each month, I meet with a wonderful group of women where we network, connect, and most importantly encourage each other with personal growth and self-care support. We understand that we are better women when we feel our best selves. We believe that we are more productive and confident in our businesses, in the workplace, for our employers, for our employees, communities, and families when we are improving ourselves as individual women. all of us have different backgrounds are different ages and certainly represent diversity. It’s a beautiful thing. Last night our topic of discussion focused on this list. We were each shared an area that we felt was our weakest point or the space that we struggle the most in. Mine is with health and wellness, #6. I am a caregiver over the last couple of weeks I recognized how caring for other people has impacted me in numerous areas of my life. It’s a space that can be hard to navigate because you often feel alone and know that you need help but are not even sure what help looks like. Suddenly when you’re faced with a thought or fear that you, the caregiver may need care, recognizing that you need to begin putting the oxygen mask on yourself first is no joke. My biggest take away from last night was this – everyone struggles with something. Even the people who seem like they have all of it together. No one has it all together. Some people really are faking it until they make it and some really aren’t even making it. Some are doing the exact same thing the rest of us are doing, getting by and doing the very best that they can, and taking everything one step at a time. Do you have a number?

Supporting Women in Leadership & Architect Professionals to move up & earn more whilst reducing stress, overwhelm & preventing burnout | Career Wellbeing Coach + Trainer | DM Me “THRIVE” for my 1:1 coaching details
How do the other women take care of their wellbeing when having to address their kids needs? Recently I’ve been asked this question by an architect and mum. And I can't speak for other women out there, But I can speak for women and architects that I know well from my Career Wellbeing Program, As they have openly shared their experiences and their kids feedback with me. 😍 So here it is: 1. They have realised first the hard truth: The way they feel, their burnout, stress, and exhaustion impact their kids. 2. Then they realised the facts that set them free, like: Their own needs are equally important as their loved ones needs. They can fully meet kids needs, if they feel well. Their good wellbeing benefits their kids, so taking care of it is not selfish. 3. Then they made tangible steps to create their wellbeing strategy and found the RYTHM that changed their situation and made a positive impact on their kids. 4. And as a result, they have reported to me: BETTER UNDERSTANDING AND CONNECTION WITH THEMSELVES = Better understanding and connection with kids EMOTIONAL REGULATION = More patience and love for them MEETING THEIR OWN NEEDS = More energy to spend quality time with kids SELF-LEADERSHIP = Becoming the example for kids of how to work and rest well The rule is simple but impact huge: Your good wellbeing is the most important asset for you and for your loved ones. If you are a mum, please share with other women in my network: How do you find a rhythm that serves your wellbeing? What do you do for yourself so that you notice a positive impact on your loved ones? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment section below. 👇 #wellbeing #impact #family #women #architects #highpressure

Men’s Health Week is a global initiative that aims to empower men to prioritise their physical and mental well-being. It’s a call to action for men of all ages to take charge of their health and embrace personal growth. Men’s Health Week was created by Congress in 1994 to heighten awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of diseases among men and boys. Since then, Men’s Health Week has become an annual event celebrated in many countries, including the UK, USA, Australia, and Canada. At ManHealth, we believe that every man and boy deserves the opportunity to achieve the best possible health and well-being, regardless of their background or location. We aim to heighten awareness of preventable health issues that affect men of all ages. We encourage men and boys to engage in healthier lifestyle choices and activities. We advocate for early detection and timely treatment of health difficulties in males. This year’s theme is “Sharing Our Stories.” Just like King Charles, who openly shared his struggle with an enlarged prostate, honest sharing can make a significant impact. By sharing our experiences, we break down barriers and encourage others to seek help when needed. There is still time to participate in men’s health training programs with ManHealth. Together, we work towards zero suicides and better mental and physical health outcomes. Men’s health is not just an individual concern; it impacts families, communities, workplaces and society as a whole. Let’s break the silence, share our stories, and create a healthier future for everyone. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/eMw7uADs and download our free workplace support booklet.

I recently commissioned a piece for Men's Health Week in June entitled "How men can be vulnerable without compromising masculinity" (Thanks Sabrina Rogers-Anderson for this awesome piece of work). It sparked a profound realisation from my now 16 months based in Indonesia. In this vibrant culture, I’ve never encountered the ‘hyper masculine’ stereotype – despite frequently engaging with government and military authorities and personnel. Instead, I’ve witnessed displays of gentleness, kindness and respect among men. Even on construction sites I pass when walking the dogs – where toughness and masculinity are often seen as synonymous with that working environment – I’ve been greeted with genuine kindness, respect and even invitations to share meals, despite significant differences in financial means. Observing men in Indonesia, their gestures, body language and (for want of a better word) submissiveness would be seen as ‘feminine’ in our culture, yet they speak volumes about the depth of human connection and empathy. This isn’t seen as weakness but, culturally, it’s expected. You see this in other elements of their lives, where the wealthy help the poor, and the less fortunate extend kindness to the destitute, and even in how the street dogs are cared for, rather than disregarded. Respect, too, for elders is paramount, visibly demonstrated by all ages and genders. This experience raises a poignant question: Why does Western society cling to the hyper masculine stereotype, and why do we instil these ideals in our children? It’s a narrative that can be damaging, leading many, including myself, to feel like we don’t fit in because we don’t conform to this narrow definition of masculinity. Personally, I’ve navigated a path of self-acceptance, realising that true strength lies in vulnerability and authenticity, not in conforming to societal norms that limit our expression and connection with others. As we celebrate Men’s Health Week this year, let’s challenge these stereotypes, embrace vulnerability, and foster cultures of respect, kindness, and inclusivity. Let’s build bridges for better connection, that help break down stigma with talking and being vulnerable, and that create safe places for men (or anyone) who might be struggling to be able to come forward and ask for the help they need. For meaningful support in your workplace, please reach out to myself or Olivia Deadman and see what our award-winning support can offer. #menshealth #menshealthweek #vulnerability #authenticity #mentalhealth #mensmentalhealth #workplacewellbeing #workplacewellness #menshealthweek2024
