A great two days spent attending the IPRS HR Strategy event. With thanks to Elliott Symonds from Jarrold Training who delivered the Insights Discovery session to our team. Using Jung’s typology, the Insights Discovery profiling system offers a framework for self-understanding and development which has been utilised and engaged with by thousands of companies and millions of individuals around the world. Research suggests that a fundamental understanding of self, both strengths and weaknesses, enables individuals to develop effective strategies for interaction that can help them to better respond to the demands of their environment. After having taken a short on-line session where you will be encouraged to think about yourself from a work perspective and with absolute honesty you will receive your profile during a guided session with one of our Insights Discovery Licensed Practitioners. Generated from several hundred thousand permutations of statements you will receive a unique profile to you. Insights Discovery is the perfect model for understanding yourself and how you might be perceived. Within the team environment the system allows us to recognise strengths and preferences of behaviour within each other. Not all psychometric tools work the same way, discover for yourself the difference with Insights Discovery, contact Elliott at Jarrold Training to determine the way you behave. https://lnkd.in/eGV9sU-h

Training supervisors to support the work-life needs of employees is a critical strategy for creating work-life supportive contexts, particularly as work-life inequality is growing as a critical form of job quality. This study, ‘entitled ‘Advancing work-life supportive contexts for the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’: Integrating supervisor training with work-life flexibility to impact exhaustion or engagement’ was recently published in FT50 journal Human Resource Management with talented co-authors Caitlin Porter, Lindsay Rosokha, Kelly Wilson, Deborah Rupp, and Jared Law-Penrose. We found that such initiatives are a critical resource that differentially benefits employees based on their job demands. Employees in jobs with little control over schedules and boundaries -often front line workers- who had a trained supervisor reported reduced emotional exhaustion; those in jobs with higher boundary control- often laptop professionals-with a trained supervisor benefited from greater family engagement. Enjoyed this conversation on the study with U.K.’s University of Southampton’s Elena Petrovic.
A new study found that organisations can improve the work-life balance of their employees by training line managers in work-life support. This training reduces burnout in employees who have little control of when or where they work and increases family engagement of employees who have high work-life flexibility. Surprisingly, work-life support training of line managers does not increase employee engagement. Steering your organisation into the future calls for 20/20 vision. When you can see a clear way forward for your business, you can move with strength and intention. The same goes for your people. But this is not easy when AI and evolving tech are constantly changing the landscape. A carefully crafted career framework will ensure you meet the needs of your company, your people and the future in an integrated way. We call this joined-up thinking: 😀 Providing clarity on growth opportunities is essential to attract and retain the best talent, especially in today’s challenging market. 😀 Developing a career framework is a great way to create a growth pathway for your people while outlining future business skill set needs. 😀 As our use of technology increases, so does our need to have the human element that glues everything together It also creates the context to communicate career and development options to people and teams while clarifying your expectations. People and companies thrive when we partner with them to do this kind of big-picture work. It’s an opportunity to stand back and view things with an impartial pair of eyes, map where the company is going and then determine what they need to get there. This is what one of our clients had to say: ‘We have worked deeply and widely with the team at Jarred over the past three years to support us in a number of critical strategic and operational people-related projects. What I most value about Kerry and her team is how they bring exceptional market knowledge and expertise to bear, but wear it lightly – always prioritising the needs of our business, and its culture, and working alongside us in a nuanced, pragmatic and intelligent way to deliver great results.’ Director of Business Strategy & Integration / CMS What we love the most is that everyone benefits from this process. #future #business #careerpathway #careerframework #businessgrowth #talentmanagement #hrspecialist #hrconsultant #talent
