Well thats another week in the bag and a great one at that after receiving a conditional offer from The University of Bolton to study Exec MBA as of September #challengeaccepted I was going to celebrate with a hike in the Lakes but mum duties take priority this weekend so i will have to wait another week. In other news...What went well? ✅️Another progressive week in developing the TOM in collaboration with Deloitte its amazing to see things taking shape and excited to see what can be achieved between now and the end of my contract. ✅️Four training sessions completed this week, getting stronger and feeling the bug again. What did i learn? ✅️ Different/New perspective of developing routes to market for Digital and Tech, my to do list is building a Suitability Matrix that supports our sub-categories. What could be improved? ✅️ Further consollidation of our existing agreements. Have a great weekend everyone! The days are slowly getting lighter and longer which gives me hope and faith in so many areas of life.

Time really flies; we were just in this place to kick-off our fall and celebrate newly promoted Deloittees. And here we are again, reflecting back on the first half of the fiscal and lessions learned. Extremely proud of the team how they have executed in a challenging macroeconomic environment to help our clients navigate with their most complex issues. But important to also focus on the areas where we can improve. Today we discussed data. And how can we still get better in collecting, maintaing and using our own data to help to drive our business even better. #betterispossible

Take it from me, the best antidote to a long, tiring week is to spend time in animated conversation with hundreds of talented, motivated, interesting teammates – especially when they are in their FIRST WEEK OF WORK EVER as full-time professionals. Last week, I had the absolute privilege to meet with Deloitte Consulting's latest cohort of campus hires at Deloitte University. As the captain of a team consisting of 85,000+ members, I often find spending time with the newest and youngest minds of our team to truly be one of the highlights of my role as CEO. This cohort joins us at an exhilarating time when the consulting industry is experiencing significant opportunity and immense change. The traditional consulting profession is transforming and converging with software and product engineers, data scientists, and designers. When we combine our new campus hire cohorts with our more experienced teammates from across industries (some of them in career 2 or 3, others who began decades ago at Deloitte) – that intersection of people, skills and experience – is where the magic happens for our clients and our teams. Together, we are shaping the future of consulting as we adapt to the evolving needs of our clients and the ever-changing landscape of the private and public sectors. The discussions with this cohort left me with an overwhelming sense of optimism and excitement for the future of our team. Witnessing their enthusiasm, drive, and passion for purpose inspires me and reaffirms my belief in a dynamic, prosperous future. One last thing (and request for all of you): while on stage I did receive the inevitable (but nevertheless thought-provoking) question about one piece of advice for a brand-new professional to maximize their first couple years in the workforce. My answer: Invest yourself intellectually to form your own opinions - and then find the courage to share them even if they cut against the grain of conventional wisdom. It was such a pleasure facilitating Deloitte’s Analyst Onboarding experience last week, and even more of a privilege getting to witness our CEO have an open conversation with our new hires. While debriefing on the conversation with a group of Analysts, they highlighted three takeaways: They appreciated his transparency and authenticity. Dan wasn’t afraid to say he didn’t have the answer to a question and point them to the right resources. They will always remember his quote as they embark on their new careers and are encouraged to network and ask advice from multiple resources: “Have the wisdom to ask for advice, but the courage to not take it” Finally, they valued his true appreciation for work life balance, highlighted when he shared he’s been taking a few hours from his work every week to sportscast Georgetown soccer games for the last 19 years - since he was just a Senior Consultant. Figure out your personal priorities, communicate them to your colleagues, display your work isn’t negatively impacted, and you will have room in life for far more than just work.

I just wrapped up an exhilarating experience with Deloitte's Big Team Challenge at the University of Bath School of Management where we were tasked with solving several operational problems for an e-commerce company 🖥 Here are my key takeaways: 1️⃣ Collaboration is Key: Navigating through the intricacies of the case reinforced the power of collaboration. Diverse perspectives from other international students, transformed hurdles into stepping stones 2️⃣ Precision in Presentation: Condensing intricate ideas into a concise, impactful presentation in under 3 minutes honed my communication ability – a crucial skill in any professional setting. 3️⃣ Prioritising goes a long way: The complex nature of the case study along with limited time forced us to narrow down on what was really the biggest challenge and in turn eliminate problems that were in fact, a by-product of the former. 4️⃣ Data is everything: Behind every successful client presentation is a compelling narrative, and data provides the storyline. Bringing facts and figures to life and transforming raw information into actionable insights is the only way to solve business problems. A visit to new undergraduate hire training is always energizing. For the dozen plus times I've now been there here's my most repeated piece of advice - it's more prosaic than Dan H's but that's right on brand for me: Me: "With professional services, the first opportunities you get to prove your value may not be exactly what you envisioned them to be. You wanted to be the CIO advisor on day one but instead you've got tape in hand measuring the data center. OK. Take the best measurements anyone has ever taken! Earn the political capital so that when the "good" opportunity comes up, leaders reach for you. There's much that you can learn about the Craft of Consulting no matter what your day job is - communication (in so many flavors!), collaboration, leadership, planning, relationship building. Keep your mind open and maximize every opportunity." Just in case the CoS is reading these replies, one more thought is that it's beyond unconscionable that the Dilly Bars are still disrupted due to "supply chain" after, now, four years? Like, am I to understand the Houthis now have the Dilly Bars? <3 to CDx and DU.
