Today, we join the United Nations in marking, and celebrating, International Day for Biological Diversity 💚. At Croda Foundation, we recognise the importance of putting biodiversity on a path to recovery, which is why we choose to partner with organisations, such as Instituto Amazonas. Through a grant of £92,000, we supported an initiative focusing on enriching and rescuing traditional agricultural practices of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon. We are delighted to say, the two-year project resulted in the preservation of 3,300 hectares of forest! 🌳 We look forward to continuing our efforts in this area to reverse loss and restore biodiversity. #CrodaFoundation #Improvinglives #BiodiversityDay

The Caribbean is a globally renowned biodiversity hotspot. Throughout its network of Small Island Developing States, the unique biological, economic and cultural fabric of the region must be protected. It's crucial to prioritize the enhancement of marine managed areas (MMAs) to meet the science-based 30x30 target. Yet real impact requires the whole region to play its part—collaboration is key. At the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF), we’re working together throughout the region and surrounding territories unifying support with strategic partners, governments, public and private sector, and local communities to achieve 30x30 goals. #30x30 #BiodiversityConservation #CaribbeanConservation #MarineConservation #BiodiversityFramework

At less than 1% of South African land cover, forests represent our smallest and most fragmented biome, yet their significance in fostering biodiversity and human well-being is disproportionate. Afrotemperate forests are our oldest forest ecosystems and vital reservoirs of unique and endemic species. As a signatory of the Convention on Biological Diversity, South Africa is committed to aligning with The Biodiversity Plan - a global action plan to halt biodiversity loss and preserve life on earth. "Be part of the Plan" is the theme for International Day of Biodiversity (IDB) in 2024, reminding us of the urgent need for collective action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. At CPP, we are proud to be a part of the plan, with our work directly contributing to Goal A, which aims to maintain, enhance, and restore the integrity, connectivity, and resilience of ecosystems; decrease extinction rates; and increase native biodiversity. 🌳🦜 📷: Zander Janzen van Rensburg

Squeezed into just 5% of their former range, Asian #elephants are key witnesses of the loss of habitat and biodiversity. 🐘 This is especially true for Asian elephants in #SoutheastAsia and #China — only 8,000 - 11,000 wild elephants remain across eight countries, and urgent action is needed to conserve them. That’s why WWF launched the #EllyAllies regional initiative in 2023, with the mission to halt these alarming regional population declines and create an environment of sustainable coexistence with humans. 🐘🌼🐞 The 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, celebrated annually on May 22nd, serves as a reminder of our interconnectedness with the natural world. This year, the theme "𝗕𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻" underscores the global call to action to protect and restore biodiversity. With the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, nations have committed to concrete measures to halt and reverse the loss of nature by 2050. As we approach the sixteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 16) in Colombia, it's imperative that governments, indigenous communities, NGOs, businesses, and individuals come together to support the implementation of the Biodiversity Plan. SETIN has been engaged in many assignments addressing biological diversity resources, ecosystems services and biodiversity loss in Europe, Africa, South-East Asia and Pacific. Everyone has a role to play and therefore can 𝗕𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻. At SETIN, we are #PartOfThePLan.

Rémy Cointreau believes in the butterfly effect 🦋….that “small” actions can make a difference, in particular if we join forces with other committed stakeholders! We are proud to share this beautiful video, produced by our partner WWF México, that explains the magic around monarch butterflies - its positive impact on the local community and its annual 4500km migration from Mexico to Canada – but also the urgent need to preserve them (they have entered the IUCN Red List in July 2022) in the face of climate change. Concretely: - In 2023, 80,500 tree plants have been produced with the financial support of Rémy Cointreau and another 80,000 will be grown in 2024 🌱. - 75 hectares of the Michoacan forest (where monarchs are wintering) have been restored and another 80 hectares will be restored in 2024 🌳. - Finally, a dozen of pollinator gardens will be established in the Monarch Butterfly Flyway in the coming years 🐞. #sustainableexception #butterflyregenerationprogram
- Biodiversity guides a large number of actions in our #SustainableException CSR roadmap: this week, we are putting them in the spotlight. 💚 - For several months, our Rémy Cointreau Americas teams have joined forces with WWF México to protect the monarch butterfly. Beyond its crucial role for our ecosystems, it plays a fundamental role for the economic growth of the Michoacán region. 🦋 Symbol of ecosystem health, the butterfly - 50% of whose species have unfortunately disappeared over the last 50 years - was chosen to embody our commitment through a collective program “Butterfly Regeneration Program” which aims to protect butterflies and promote global biodiversity at all levels of the Group. #BiodiversityDay
