**Looking for recommendations: Treasurer (Penningmeester, Raad van Toezicht)** Unfortunately, we'll have to part ways with our current wonderful Treasurer, so we are looking for recommendations for an experienced finance expert to take up this role in Systemic Justice's governance. Who are we looking for? 👉🏾 Ideally, we’d like to work with someone who has hands-on experience managing/overseeing the finances of a non-profit organisation. We’ve found that it is helpful if the Treasurer understands how things work for an organisation that is funded by foundation grants, and that may in the future pursue EU and potentially government funding. 👉🏾 Such experience within the Netherlands would be highly beneficial, though we can consider someone who has done this work in other jurisdictions and knows the right questions to ask. 👉🏾 For our team, governance, and external providers, we seek to work with people who have lived experience with systems of oppression.   What are we asking? 👉🏾 3 meetings per year: one in person at one of Systemic Justice’s team retreats (1-2 days), two online (2 hours each) 👉🏾 Overseeing/supporting the annual financial audit – this means reviewing the accounts and engaging with the auditor. This will always depend but should not add up to more than 1-2 days in total as we have an experienced finance team leading on this.   What do we offer? 👉🏾 The opportunity to be part of the further building of the first Black-led, majority BPOC organisation in Europe building strategic court cases with community partners for racial, social, and economic justice.  👉🏾 A modest remuneration (“vacatiegeld”) as allowed by the regulators for organisations with ANBI (public benefit organisation) status. 👉🏾 To this, I should add that we always pick lovely locations for our team retreats 😊 and that there is the option of being more involved in our process of developing a community accountability model etc. if the person has the interest and time. New Post: CIRO’s advisors credentialing body approval draws reactions, questions - With CIRO’s new credentialling authority, individuals approved by CIRO as registered representatives, mutual fund dealing representatives, portfolio managers and associate portfolio managers may now hold themselves out as financial advisors in the province, FSRA said. “Accreditation through CIRO will give investors confidence that they are dealing with highly qualified Financial Advisors,” said CIRO President and CEO Andrew Kriegler in Tuesday’s statement. Advisor title clarity remains a concern But in response to the news, FAIR Canada, the country’s only investor-focused non-profit, argued that letting mutual fund dealing reps, registered reps, and portfolio managers all use the financial advisor title would actually muddy the waters for the investing public. “We know from our research that the vast majority (92%) of Canadian investors expect a financial advisor to be proficient in all core areas of personal finance,” FAIR Canada said, referring to survey research around financial advisor titles it released late last year. “Similarly, 92% agree job titles should make it clear what the holder is licensed to provide advice about.” #CIROs #advisors #credentialing #body #approval #draws #reactions #questionshttps://lnkd.in/ddj6U6HX

This week, the VI International Forum of Corporate Directors took place, featuring various speakers, including Tetyana Novytska, CEO of the Charitable Foundation "Children of Heroes," and the Head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andriy Pyshnyi. I'd like to highlight two key topics from the discussions. Firstly, there was a discussion on the need for further easing of currency restrictions, particularly the repatriation of "new" dividends. This is an extremely relevant issue for businesses, reflecting the desire for currency liberalization and creating more opportunities for enterprises. The second important theme revolves around the reform of corporate governance in the financial sector. It was noted at the forum that state-owned banks have successfully undergone the second stage of corporate governance reform, including the renewal of supervisory boards and the involvement of high-quality expertise. The plan is to use this expertise to update the strategies of state banks and to expand the reform to other sectors, such as insurance, financial companies, and credit unions. It's also worth mentioning the presentation by Tetyana Novytska, CEO of the "Children of Heroes" foundation, who introduced the foundation's programs and shared information about 7,074 children, 93% of whom lost a parent due to the war in Ukraine.
