**Urgent Call for Help: Buddy's Road to Recovery Needs You** We have an important update on Buddy’s condition. Our vet visited the shelter and determined that Buddy’s wound was too severe to leave open, so suturing was necessary. Though it was a challenging process, we had to gently restrain Buddy to ensure he remained safe during the procedure. Buddy’s resilience continues to inspire us, but his journey to recovery is far from over. The suturing was a critical step, but he still requires ongoing care and support to heal fully. This is where we need your help more than ever. Your generosity has been a lifeline for Buddy, and we are profoundly grateful. However, the costs of his medical treatment and continued care are significant. Please consider donating, sharing Buddy’s story, and encouraging others to contribute. Every bit of support brings Buddy closer to a pain-free, happy life. Thank you for standing by Buddy’s side and for your unwavering compassion. Karen Manzo Karen England Sonya Kunkle H K. Our Urgent Care Appeal is all about supporting us to provide support to those facing life-limiting illnesses. Every donation counts, it helps bring comfort and care to patients and their families facing challenging times. We are seeing more patients, and their families turn to us for support, pain management, and end-of-life care within our Hospice in Basingstoke and in homes across North Hampshire. But our funds are stretched due to the current cost of living crisis, high fuel and energy costs, and high inflation rates, combined with over 15 years of below inflation increases to our government NHS funding. These external factors beyond our control mean we expect our costs this year to be almost £600,000 more than our income. Appeals like this are crucial because they provide an opportunity for our community to come together and support their local Hospice. Support us in helping to fund the vital care we provide: https://lnkd.in/e3E3CbCn Together, we can make a meaningful impact. 💙 #UrgentCareAppeal #StMichaelsHospice

The way we talk about dying matters 💬 This Dying Matters Awareness Week, we're encouraging our community to get talking about death, dying and grief. Hospice UK, the charity behind the campaign week, says: "Honest, timely discussions about death and dying are so important, they can transform the end of someone’s life and give family and friends clarity over what to expect. "Whether it's with healthcare professionals, family, friends, or colleagues, we're encouraging everyone to have these important conversations and to think about the words we use to have them. "We hope that speaking honestly about death means that people get the information and support they need, when they need it." 💭 Many people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are not aware of all of the benefits that they could be entitled to. We wanted to help change this so in September 2022, we set up a dedicated benefits calculator for people with CKD. 📈 We have seen an incredible 3,887 people complete their personalised benefits calculations since we launched. Staggeringly, a third of those calculations have been completed since the beginning of 2024. This highlights more than ever how much people living with CKD are struggling during the #CostofLivingCrisis and how many people need the help of charities like Kidney Care UK. ➕ Find out today if there are any benefits you may be eligible for by clicking here: https://lnkd.in/ewKG5Ryf ❗ Remember, if you are struggling, you are not alone. We are here if you need financial, practical or emotional support: https://lnkd.in/eyxR9J3w
