Crowell & Moring represented itselectric, a Brooklyn-based electric vehicle curbside charging company, in closing a $6.5 million seed funding round. The round was led by Failup Ventures and Uber Technologies, with additional participation from Halogen Ventures, The Partnership Fund for NYC, Pulse Fund, Newlab, Gratitude Railroad, Tale VP, Equity Alliance Fund, LACI Impact Fund, and The Helm. This new funding will support itselectric's expansion to seven U.S. cities in 2024, including Boston, Los Angeles, Detroit, Jersey City, and San Francisco, and will help meet the growing demand for convenient and affordable curbside EV charging solutions. 🌱 Seed Round Announcement from florrent! 🔊 We are very excited to share that florrent has secured $3.6M in Seed funding, led by MassVentures, in addition to over $650K in recent grant awards, to advance our mission of revolutionizing supercapacitor technology while building an economically sustainable business that innovates for the well-being of people and the planet. 🌎 Our success is fueled by the support of an incredible group of Seed investors, including Raven Indigenous Capital Partners, MassMutual Catalyst Fund, Boston Impact Initiative, Maroon Venture Partners Fund, Collaborative Fund, Elbezius, and The Sky Foundation. Interlock is backed by both Mark Cuban and Atlanta Ventures. 2. Atlanta-based Fintech company Relay Payments just released a new product for the trucking industry. Spencer Barkoff and I got to talk about the company's plans for growth and how the company is modernizing payments for this critical industry. 3. Sunmax Tech, a solar components manufacturer that supplies Tesla and Hanwha, the parent company of QCells, which has plants in North Georgia is opening a manufacturing base in Adairsville, Georgia. 4. Belgium chemical company Syensqo broke ground on a battery component manufacturing plant in Augusta, Georgia, bringing another part of the EV supply chain to the state. 5. Southern Company is partnering with San Francisco software provider WeaveGrid to simplify electric vehicle home charging through programs with Alabama Power Company and Georgia Power Company. The goal of the program is to provide participants access to incentives but also help reduce stress on the electric grid during peak demand times while charing EVs at home.
