Need to step up at a level higher! The recently concluded Paris Olympics has starkly highlighted India's performance in the medal tally. For a nation with a population of 1.4 billion, aspiring to join the ranks of the world's leading nations, securing just 6 medals is a disappointing reflection of our sporting capabilities on the global stage. As the popular Hindi saying goes, "Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar" (Only the winner is the king), merely achieving six 4th place finishes and a few quarter-final appearances across various sports cannot be considered a measure of success. As a nation, we must take sports seriously, starting at the grassroots level, and work to increase participation in various disciplines.
