Intersting EY survey results on growing FDI in Europe. Based on the outlook and recommendation from the survey, Finland is in a good position to help those looking to grow and sharpen their strategic and operational edge. For example, the survey found 64% of execs expecting to increase their European R&D investments. This is good for Finland, which excels in R&D expertise and ecosystems, especially in the transformative tech areas of life sciences, healthcare, clean tech, quantum computing, and AI. On this Friday I’d like to share a motto of mine: Aut viam inveniam aut faciam. Either I will find a way or I will make one. Challenges, constraints, and barriers are not there to stop you but to teach you and push you to be better, to think differently, to clarify what needs to be done. There’s always a way forward. Always. Do you agree? What’s your motto? (image courtesy of Geoffrey (ChatGPT) when asked for a related image - caught your eye, didn’t it?)

On this Friday, I offer you this: check out Archetype AI and their platform for 'physical AI'. I've been thinking a lot of the fusion of physical and AI, so I wrote up some comments on these guys and what I feel is missing from their message. Let me know what you think.

This is the kind of funding Business Finland provides early stage companies in Finland who are challenged by high technological and market-entry risks. Multiple funding phases of €400k each, two which are grants, contributing up to 75% of the company's R&D budget. This kind of funding is one reason foreign companies set up R&D in Finland. Of course, the other reasons are the business environment, the talented and innovative ecosystem, and the social environment (rated happiest country, 7 times in a row). Message me if you want to know more. #funding #research #finland

On this Friday, I leave you with some important advice: stretch your mind. If you surround yourself with the same-old, read the same-old, do the same-old - you will just think and make the same-old. Therefore, to stretch you mind, I offer a newsletter on manufacturing that always delights me, bringing up things I normally would not encounter - knife sharpening, refrigerators, construction sites, materials, infrastructure, and, of course, so many aspects of manufacturing. Here's a recent edition. Expand you mind and enjoy. #manufacturing #thinking #newsletter
