Did you know that Portland Police Bureau has a ride along program 🚔 for applicants in the hiring/background process? We have an amazing ride with a recruiter program, where those already in the background process can ride along with one of our recruiters and respond to calls within the three precincts jurisdiction. How is this different from other ride alongs? I’m glad you asked. Riding with a recruiter, who is not attached to a specific district/area, they can pick and chose which calls are responded to, so the applicant gets to see a variety of calls for service and get to observe a greater view of the city. The recruiters can answer questions regarding the job, each call for service, and give one on one insight. Also, Chief Lovell is a great supporter of this program and often times will make a point of introducing himself to the applicants and takes time to answer any questions they have. How cool is that?!! www.joinportlandpolice.com #PPBishiring #lawenforcementcareers #policejobs

There are many procurement adjacent roles that need great candidates in them at the State! So another suggestion would be to tell your friend... (🤣 make it easier for you, teach them to look for themselves and ask if you know anything about a job or department 😅). #IYKYK 1) Open the link. 2) Scroll down to the "Open Job Quick Links" section and use the links to browse jobs or filter open job listings into industry/ job areas that sound interesting. 3) Keep a current resume on file. You can store and update a resume using a link below the "Open Job Quick Links" making applying easier. 4) If you find a recruitment type that sounds good, let me know. It's easier keep a look out, for similar jobs. https://lnkd.in/e2vU9N9p

"You're a long way from home. What are you doing in *insert state here* ?" We travel a lot, so we hear that question a lot, including today while recruiting at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington. The answer to that question is always the same. "We are looking for future Arizona State Troopers... they just don't live in Arizona yet." There are great candidates all over the country. If we were to restrict our recruiting efforts to within Arizona's borders only, we would miss out on a lot of them. Motivated people move cross-country for great job opportunities in other industries all the time, so why would that be different when seeking a career with an elite law enforcement agency? The simple answer: It's not. A comprehensive recruiting plan is one that targets the best candidates, both in- and out-of-state.

We're on the hunt for a Children's Librarian who can bring the perfect mix of joy and literary learning to our library. As the Master of Mayhem & Mischief, you'll be the maestro of giggles, the curator of chaos, and the chief instigator of imagination. Key Responsibilities: Storytelling Shenanigans: Spin tales so enthralling that even the shyest of children will join in the storytelling antics. Bookish Buffoonery: Organize book-themed treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, and quirky reading challenges to get kids turning those pages. Mad Science and Wacky Workshops: Turn the library into a laboratory of wonder, where kids can experiment and learn through hands-on, occasionally explosive (in a safe way, of course) activities. Crazy Costume Crusader: Show up to work in costumes ranging from pirates to aliens, from wizards to talking animals, all in the name of bringing literature to life. Artistic Anarchy: Encourage creative chaos with art projects that result in glitter being everywhere (we mean everywhere). Secret-Keeping Superhero: Listen to the wild and wonderful stories kids bring to you and offer the perfect book recommendations. Qualifications: A degree in Library Science or a related field, or the ability to make balloon animals. A penchant for silliness and a natural ability to communicate with children while pretending to be a pirate. Strong organizational skills for planning the best messy, creative, and chaotic events. A good sense of humor and an exceptional tolerance for playdough on the floor. Why Join Us? Laughter Is Required: Be part of an environment where giggles and guffaws are considered essential elements of the job. Infinite Inspiration: Children have boundless imaginations, and you'll get to be a part of their adventures. Endless Craft Supplies: Access to an extensive collection of glitter, googly eyes, and craft materials (use responsibly). Flexible Work Attire: We won't judge if you show up to work as a pirate or a dragon, as long as you're on time and bring your love for children's books. How to apply:
