Cuberg has joined the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) to accelerate the commercialization of electric #aviation. Richard Wang, Cuberg's Founder and CEO, comments: "The shift to electric propulsion is the most profound technological change in aviation since the invention of the turbine engine. GAMA, in their role as industry convener and facilitator, will help ensure that this transition is safe for pilots and passengers by building on their deep experience dating back to 1970. We are proud to be part of this prestigious organization and join these crucial conversations." Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gTjz6NBj

Airbus, easyJet and Rolls-Royce set out UK’s strategy to lead hydrogen industry A group of aviation heavyweights that came together in September 2023 to form the Hydrogen in Aviation alliance (HIA) have set out the UK’s strategy to lead the global hydrogen industry and build a $43 billion income. On March 18, 2023, Airbus, easyJet, Rolls-Royce, Ørsted, GKN Aerospace, Bristol Airport and ZeroAvia published the Milestone Delivery Report that sets out how to ensure the UK has the “right conditions for the technological development, regulation, infrastructure, financial framework and hydrogen supply that will be needed for hydrogen aviation”. According to a statement accompanying the report the alliance said that the UK is home to many world-first advances in hydrogen-powered aircraft technology from hydrogen engine testing to the first flights of hydrogen-fueled planes so is well placed to become a global leader in the technology. It is always a pleasure to share record numbers, especially when reporting the best first half-year in the company's history. However, numbers alone don't paint the full picture: It is important to acknowledge that non-operating special factors and one-time effects have significantly contributed to these results. For the full year, our company continues to expect to deliver results at the level of the previous year. We are still on the right track to grow from a strong position, although it will not be an easy task. We are burdened by disproportionately high-cost increases and ongoing industry-wide challenges in material supply, which particularly affect our two traditional core segments, Engine and Aircraft Component Services. The positive news is that there is certainly no shortage of demand: Our company secured 320 new contracts in the first half of the year. At our digital platform AVIATAR, the corresponding contracts now cover nearly 4000 aircraft. Every team in our company has played a vital role in this collective success, and I am confident that we can maintain this positive spirit despite the challenges ahead. #LufthansaTechnik #MROexperts #keepyouflying

Zero-Emission (ZE) aircraft, such as hydrogen-powered and electric aircraft, is an area of development that is as exciting as it is ambitious. The Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation (AZEA) is a voluntary initiative of private and public partners who share the objective of preparing for the entry into commercial service of such aircraft. The Alliance has grown to 168 members, and interest to join is not waning. EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency chairs WG4 which met in hybrid format this week. Two teams have done an enormous work at identifying gaps on both certification specifications as well as industry standards that are needed to facilitate the entry into the market of ZE aircraft. Many thanks to Joan Serra (GAMA) and Esther Hoyas Vicente (EUROCAE) for your leadership and hard work! In addition we saw excellent presentations from David Brain (Eurocontrol), Nando van Arnhem (Vaeridion), Frank Neumann (IMIEU), Sebastian Placzek (DG DEFIS), Colin Hancock (EASA), David Solar (EASA), Marcella Miano (EASA) and Mara Dame (EASA). Thank you all for your great participation and level of engagement. #zeroemissions #aviationsafety #sustainableaviation #hydrogen

Hermeus + MANUFACTURO: A Collaborative Partnership Industrializing Hypersonic Aircraft Production. MANUFACTURO is helping Hermeus achieve their ambitious vision of the future of passenger travel - moving at Mach 5 speed. Hermeus understood that to keep pace in the ultra-competitive aerospace manufacturing industry, they needed to upgrade to an integrated software solution that could accommodate their evolving needs and requirements. “Manufacturo was selected for its ease of use - not only in our users working with the solution in itself, but in its ability to integrate with other current systems/products at Hermeus,” said Ellen Malloy, Hermeus’ Director of Manufacturing. “It can support the full process of complex vehicle builds and maintain the highest level of traceability and control over our hardware.” Today, Hermeus is thriving with a one-system solution from Manufacturo, managing and synchronizing complex assembly operations, facilitating the scalable production of hypersonic aircraft with even more speed and precision. Intrigued by what the future of air travel looks like at Mach 5 speed? You can read the whole story, detailing how Hermeus and Manufacturo are collaborating to help make it a reality, in our latest case study, by clicking the link below. https://lnkd.in/g3a7iWMp #hermeus #manufacturo #casestudy #collaboration #aircraft #production
