Excited to have been featured in Dagens Næringsliv's recent article over the weekend on the current state of talent in Norway and beyond! Here at Statkraft, our experiences in the talent market have shown some changes since COVID, with a less stretched tech talent supply, but indicators do point to a more competitive market returning. While we're seeing strong profiles responding to job adverts in higher volumes, technical and skilled workers remain a challenge to attract, especially in areas with challenging locations. We're also experiencing similar situations outside of Norway in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. While some talent markets are more open to changing roles, there are still specific profiles with stiff competition, especially in areas with traditionally scarce and highly specialised talent such as hydrogen and offshore wind. In many cases we are operating in locations that have historically not had these types of industries which means the skills and experience are also limited. Lots to consider including seeking our "hidden gem" locations where talent is more plentiful, crafting an impactful employer brand to show why we are worth it, building long term relationships with talent early on, and also considering relocation where possible.
