🌟 Flashback to Childhood Dreams 🌟
What's the first career you ever dreamed of having? For me, it was quite the journey through aspirations!
✈️ As a kid who loved "Top Gun", my first goal was to become the first female fighter pilot. While I quickly realised flying wasn't my strength (though I overcame that fear!), another trailblazing woman raced ahead to that landmark first.
🚛 My second dream was a bit down-to-earth, literally - becoming a lorry driver! That ambition was curbed by my mum's worries about the truck stop lifestyle.
🐴 Finally, I considered a career as a vet, drawn by my love for animals. However, the difficult aspects of the job, such as having to put animals down, steered me away. Nonetheless, I've come close, achieving a Level 4 Diploma in Equine Sports Therapy.
What about you? Drop your first dream job below and let's reminisce about the paths we've travelled and the dreams that shaped us!

Really comprehensive article about Ranger School. Don’t overlook being physically fit, but having the right mental fortitude is essential. Having a “never quit” attitude is the best advice I offer future Ranger candidates. Easier said than done when you’re cold, wet, hungry, and exhausted. At the end (tab or not), you’ll know a lot more about yourself.

Day 112 of 366: Community and Camaraderie at the Run Army Event 🏃♂️🎖️
Today, over 10,000 participants took to the streets in Brisbane, Townsville, and across the globe for the Run Army event, featuring both 5km and 10km runs. This event isn’t just a test of endurance; it’s a powerful demonstration of support for our serving members, veterans, and the wider community.
A Day of Unity and Support:
Run Army’s goal is to deliver a world-class event that fosters an unrivaled partnership and shows unwavering support for those who dedicate their lives to our protection. It’s a unique opportunity for the community to run shoulder to shoulder with our defenders in a spirit of fun and camaraderie.
On the Ground with Run With:
I attended the event to promote our app, Run With, which enhances training experiences for runners of all levels. It was also a perfect setting to close off my third week of marathon training, completing a 18.5km run in 1 hour and 45 minutes with keeping my heart rate down at 130 bpm.
Voices from the Event:
I had the privilege of interviewing several notable individuals who played pivotal roles in the event:
• Harry from ADF Careers: Discussing new recruitment strategies for the armed forces.
• Kirsten W. from BeWell - RSL Qld: Sharing insights on the support services and wellness programs RSL Qld offers to veterans.
• Leeha James from FCFA: Highlighting how the Firefighters Cancer Foundation Australia supports firefighters dealing with cancer.
• Marty Cornish from Phoenix Workwear: Exploring how their workwear supports the physical demands of industry and service members while supporting a great cause in mental health & resilience.
Reflecting on Today:
Run Army is more than just a running event; it’s a celebration of resilience, community, and mutual respect. It’s about people coming together to support those who serve, demonstrating that every step we take together is a step towards a stronger community.

I devised this plan to have Kentucky Speedway rise from the dead and return to the NASCAR racing slate:
1. Increase the size of the track from 1.5 miles to 2.0 miles in length, but keep the track shape as a tri-oval.
2. Increase the banking in all four turns to 28 degrees, up from 17 degrees in turns 1 and 2, and 14 degrees in turns 3 and 4. Increase the banking in the tri-oval to 14 degrees, up from 8-10 degrees now.
3. Add more press boxes to the pre-existing front stretch boxes and build twin spires on the ends of them. Add flag poles to the tops of the spires, one flying the state flag of Kentucky, and the other flying the American flag.
4. Build hotel luxury suites across the entire length of the two speedway towers.
I honestly still believe in the Kentucky Speedway, and its potential to be a great race facility that can provide exciting, competitive races. It just needs to be granted an opportunity for upgrades and revamps to the race track itself.
So now I ask, how does this idea sound to everybody here?
Does anything I said there make a bit of sense?

This #MentorshipMonday, we are doing a Virtual Ranger Rendezvous. If you're seeing this after Monday, it's not too late!
Who: All Rangers, Family and Friends. Mandatory participation, no excused absences.
What: Everyone will call or visit (not text, not email, not FB, not Linkedin), one person, that they have not talked to in at least the last 7 days.
When: Within 24 hours of receiving this.
Why: Because relationships are the most important thing in our lives
Special Instructions:
The minimum requirement for the call conversation-
1. Hi, it’s (65) degrees here today. What you got?
2. Who have you talked to today? If the answer is nobody, then you direct them to call you back when they have done that.
Extra duty for not complying- Kit run around Perimeter road, or 25 up and downs at Noble or Cardiac Hills, depending on location. Report to COL Ralph Puckett at the appointed time and place.
There is a Ranger that has the answer or knows somebody that has an answer to any issue. Let us know, and we’ll find him! A Ranger never goes anywhere by himself!

This weekend was the Kentucky Derby, and on the historic 150th running of this race, Mystik Dan delivered a breath-taking win, beating second place Sierra Leone and third place Forever Young in the first three horse photo finish since 1947 ended in a 3-horse photo finish.
This year's race marks a unique milestone with the 150th running of the Derby — the first race took place back in 1875.
There are lots of interesting facts about the Derby, with the drink of the race is the Mint Julep, made with Woodford Reserve as the official bourbon for the race. There wasn’t an official trophy for the race for almost 50 years, the first race was in 1875 and the trophy was created in 1924. To this day the Kentucky Derby trophy is one of the only solid gold trophies in the United States. The fastest Kentucky Derby was run by Secretariat in 1973 (1:59.40). The slowest winning time was run by Kingman in 1891 (2:52.25 for the mile and a half). There have been three fillies to win the race.
I love the Kentucky Derby not only because it’s exciting, but also because it always provides important leadership lessons. Here are a few from the 2024 race:
You can win against all odds.
You just never know.
You can’t stop until the end.
This was an exciting race to watch, and even more interesting doing research on the history of the Derby as well as the winner. If you have something interesting to add to the lore of the Kentucky Derby, drop it in the chat. Don’t forget to like, comment, and follow so you don’t miss future content.
