You would never get your architect to design half your house and then design the other half yourself because "you've been in a house". There's technical knowledge, design expertise, and professional standards they are working within. Hiring an event professional is like hiring an architect for your event. If you cut out parts of the scope to manage it yourself because you "know what events entail", you're missing out on having their technical knowledge, experience, and design expertise applied to your whole event. It's the difference between having "hired help" who can check off tasks for you versus having a trusted advisor that can help design an impactful experience for your attendees. I don’t know about you, but I’d never move into a house that was only half designed by a professional architect…. #events #eventprofs #eventdesign

Why is it so challenging to hire a world-class Creative Director who is exceptional at building unforgettable brands? It’s not just about skill, it's about demand. Everyone wants to hire a creative human from the best design spaces in the world. But not everyone can. When the biggest brand studios, creative agencies and in-house brands want you. The real question is - where will best future-proof your career as a design leader? Where can you create exceptional work with innovative and prestigious brands that don’t play safe? Where do you want to build your legacy? Sometimes the answer is the simplest one. The power of design studios is only getting stronger. Particularly studios that have always stayed true to what they do best: building exceptional brands. I’ve partnered with studio that lives and breathes this philosophy. A studio celebrated as one of the best in the world because they set the bar, and always keep pushing it. If this resonates with you, let's talk.

Less than 24 hours to apply for my old, ✨rare✨ graphic design job - reverb more so during this unprecedented time. Co-operative Party are hiring a new Design Officer. I really can't recommend the job, the workplace and the people enough. My time in the role has been an incredible 20 months: right in the thick of it, yet seeing myself grow thanks to a nurturing environment. And now, over the next year with the General Election on the horizon? It's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If interested, please do drop me a message - but more importantly, go for it! I absolutely butchered the first stage of applying when I went for it (no, really: I'm pretty sure I copied answers into wrong sections having left it to the last minute 🤦🏼), so don't let the deadline of noon tomorrow for that put you off. If not for you, do share: I can't exaggerate how much of an invaluable role it is for any creative who has felt stuck struggling to break through to their next professional step - especially if one with a political focus. This role is rare, and won't come up often. Good luck! 🐝
📢 We're hiring a new part-time Design Officer! If you're a creative who wants to make a difference in the run up to the next election and beyond, we want to hear from you. Find out more 👉 https://party.coop/jobs #designjobs #design #designers #politicaldesign

#1 top tip NOT to do in your portfolio It’s always a massive 🚩for me! PLEASE stop putting case study links in folios that just direct me to the live company website It really just not helpful for me as a hiring manager You probably didn’t design the entirety of the latest <Airbnb> site yourself from scratch So why show it to me with no context? #Hiring #Design #Portfolios #Vent

The reality is a lot of designers won't have the luxury of being able to follow design processes to the absolute T when working in environments where they have to ship fast. This doesn't mean they're not capable of doing so. Be open minded to this when hiring, otherwise you'll lose out on some top creative talent.

💡 Benefits of working as an Interior Designer at a developer: ◻ You are essentially your own client - a lot less back and forth, and overall more efficiency. ◻ Your designs will always get created, projects are always built. ◻ The focus on profitability means as you progress there is higher earning potential and bonuses compared to Interior Design Studios. ◻ Working at a Prime developer means you still get to design to very high standards with healthy budgets. If this appeals, check out my below role...
A unique opportunity to join a successful design and development firm awaits… apply now https://lnkd.in/e5GMhmBS #interiordesignjobs #matchingtalent

Engaging agencies vs hiring in-house isn’t binary or mutually-exclusive They can work hand in hand, just need a good partnership Especially within Design, where we always preach about collaboration and co-design. • When speed and new ideas are priority; agencies are typically the way to go • When you want to build organisational capabilities; in-house teams are normally the way to go But it doesn’t need to be an either or In-house designers will know the organisation, the industry, and their customers better (often) Agencies (when set up properly) can bring in external knowledge and work at pace outside of the day to day The trick is in leveraging the best of both #Design #Collaboration #Agency

Friends, please hear me…. In this last week I have had 7 texts/calls/msgs of friends who had started a remodel and needed guidance on how to fix a bad design/install, who to hire, how to match selections, where to buy products, etc. Just. Hire. Me! I am worth my weight in gold. Not a brag, just honest. I would rather work with you from the get go, than have to fix someone else’s shotty work. That sucks. I charge an honest rate for what for what I deliver, and you won’t be sorry. Please stop asking me to fix the “price was right” persons job. I will start to charge those jobs more. I’m here for you, I will give you my honest option, even if it means you don’t need me. But need some direction. I have accolades, awards and TV appearances for a reason. I’m very good at what I do. I would love to work with you in all of your projects big and small. I will make time for you, answer your calls/texts, tell you who to hire (and who to avoid, 🙅🏼♀️ I said what I said) and point you in the right direction. I work with local and remote clients, please message me! I would love to work with you! 🫶🏼 #callme #interiordesign #interiordesigner #remoteinteriordesigner #travelinginteriordesigner #yourlocalinteriordesigner #saratogadesigner #upstateny #furnituredesign #kitchendesign #basementremodel #renovation #homedesign
