"The Right Stuff" is more than a song from a boy band of whose fan club I may or may not have been a member. For educators, the right tools- a rolling cart with drawers, binder clips, quality dry-erase boards, etc. can make preparation and instruction go more smoothly. This frees up bandwidth to be better kid watchers. In a recent post in the Collaborative Leadership Community, Center for the Collaborative Classroom asks leaders about suggestions for materials organization that are working at their schools. #collabclass

In a world of (at times) just too much information, leaders (and yes - teachers are leaders too) must model how to exercise influence rather than impose one's views on others, even when we have the authority to do so. This principle is connected to authentic leadership. Specifically, education leaders must cultivate relationships, remain true to their own values, act with integrity and work toward developing a shared vision for the future with staff, students, families, and communities.

Self-Mastery - Positive Impact - Leadership in Action Leadership studies introduce leadership theory and develop leadership skills necessary for current and future leaders in society. The course is open to grade twelve students who seek to develop and enhance leadership skills. During the fall semester, students meet daily as a class to study communication, ethics, and the philosophy of leadership. They also hear from a series of guest speakers who represent a wide spectrum of leadership roles in our community. #leadership #jpiihyannis
