In light of Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s recent stance on medical school admissions favoring solely Ontario students, it’s crucial to discuss the broader implications for healthcare excellence and diversity. Internationally trained professionals, whom Canada actively recruits for their expertise and qualifications, already face systemic barriers in accreditation and practice. Doug Ford’s push for "100% Ontario resident students in medical schools" undermines the inclusivity of our educational institutions, and encourages the discrimination those professionals already face. Going down that road will not serve the public, nor our health system. #GlobalTalent #HealthcareInclusion #regulatedprofessions #internationallytrainedphysicians #discrimination

As Students' Association for Medical Education and Research term is approaching an end.I can't express my deepest gratitude for serving this association as the 5th-term president for 2023/24.During these hard times, we -as the 5th term EB- managed to do a lot of astounding things. The most important of them all is the maintenance of the association in times when all associations ceased to exist. Without further talk, the following image represents a speech to you all.And also the introduction of the end-term report which can be accessed from here(https://lnkd.in/ddATq3TY).
