The summer is still underway and full of fun. Cuyahoga DD has been at various events and programs to share our resources and services. Throughout the year the eligibility team has visited the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Pictured, Zully, Administrative Specialist, visited the Food Bank to connect with the community. She shared how Cuyahoga DD supports people with disabilities and how to apply for our services. (First picture) On August 17, The Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio held its annual Buddy Walk. Cuyahoga DD sponsored and attended to fundraise for the Down syndrome community. We have been taking the month of January, to put together a calendar of events, to serve communities in wellbeing. Each activity is mindfully thought through : with awareness of the varying needs of the target audience we serve, paying attention to what truly matters, and keeping it accessible, and accepting whilst there is much to be done, we can only do so much. We continue to listen to what our communities need, and will adjust our calendar of events, to address the needs. It is a live document, and we are proud that it is so. We are also open to feedback, and what thoughts you might have of the needs of the community, in relation to the 5 domains of wellbeing that we advocate for. We look forward to your involvement and participation. It does not need to be all the programmes we have curated. Even if it is one or two to start with, is perfectly fine and normal. Will you join us? #communitywellbeing #physicalwellbeing #mentalwellbeing #emotionalwellbeing #financialwellbeing #spiritualwellbeing #activities #events #mayyoubewell #calendar #activelifestyle #socialcare #communitycare #selfcare #fun #excitement #learning #joy

How can we support you? Social and community participation: We will assist you with the daily living activities and provide additional help where you need personal care. To us it is more than just physical needs, it is about building trust and strong relationships which is why we try to always give you same support workers for consistency and comfort. These services include: Community access & transport 🚗 We work with consumers to connect them with their community so that they can participate in activities to get them closer to their goals and achieve greater independence. One of the biggest barriers to community participation is access to transport. We provide transport to and from activities and support consumers while they are there (as required). The theme for this year's International Day of Happiness is "Happiness Together." In a world that is full of challenges and problems, it is important to take a moment to focus on the things that make us happy. This can be as simple as spending time with loved ones, pursuing hobbies, or engaging in positive self-talk. By focusing on the things that make us happy, we can improve our overall well-being and find more fulfillment in our lives. When we show kindness to others, we not only make them happy but also experience a sense of purpose and meaning in our own lives. This year, let us strive to spread happiness and positivity in our communities and the world. #happinessisfree #volunteering #humanityarmy

Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders focusing on service delivery and coordination.
🌿 Building Connections Through Community Participation and Outdoor Activities!🌞 At Centred Social Services, we believe that community participation is more than just an NDIS support category—it's a pathway to growth, connection, and well-being. 🌻 Today, we had an incredible time at the farm, where our young participants and support workers bonded over feeding animals, planting veggies, and exploring the great outdoors. 🐐 The cheeky goats definitely kept everyone on their toes, bringing smiles and laughter all around! 😄 Engaging in outdoor activities not only promotes physical health but also creates opportunities for building meaningful relationships between participants and their support workers. Through shared experiences, we foster trust, understanding, and empowerment. It's about finding joy in the little moments and creating lasting memories together. 🌼 By stepping out of traditional environments and into nature, we see participants flourish in ways that tailored indoor programs sometimes can't provide. Whether it's learning to care for animals or enjoying a moment of calm by the pond, these experiences help build skills, confidence, and community connections. 🌳💪 Thank you to our amazing support team and wonderful participants for making today such a success! Together, we're creating an inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to grow and thrive. 💚 #NDIS #CommunityParticipation #OutdoorActivities #InclusiveSupport #BuildingConnections #CentredSocialServices #DisabilitySupport #MentalHealthAwareness #CheekyGoats #EmpowermentThroughExperience

Definitely worth reading the article.
This article highlights the reason why we've spent a year creating 21 Active Many of us take for granted that we can exercise when we want, book a class at a moment's notice, or join a gym without much thought. But those rules don't apply to everyone. If you have a disability (visible or invisible), a learning disability or a mental health condition, your choices can be limited. This is not how things should be. Why shouldn't there be more opportunities which cater to a wider range of audiences? Credit to Mencap and the Delta Gym in Omagh, (NI) for providing fitness and activities for ALL. This type of activity shouldn't be a side note, a box ticked, it's a requirement that should be offered to everyone. This is about companies understanding that our society is made up of different people who have different needs, then listening to them and seeing how they can work with them. Inequality has many faces. Ignoring it doesn't make it disappear, it only serves to push it away from the mainstream conversation. It's worth noting that finding solutions for a more accessible world can be beneficial to the whole of society; you never know when you might need them. I'd like to have conversations with David Lloyd Clubs PureGym The Gym Group Gymbox Serco Leisure Everyone Active - SLM to change the narrative and find out what can be done.
