The biggest disruption - gen AI. AI may spell the end of “social” in social media. “Because if you can create content via AI — and I’m sure we’re only a very short time away from a plug-in for LinkedIn that will help you to also comment and like certain articles — then it’s just a system that revolves itself all the time,” said Stephen Rose, senior vice president and head of global communication services at Siemens. “If the content is created by a machine, the comments are created by a machine, the relevance of the content will decline and the social and personal human touch will be gone.” #2024 #genai #ai

What does Gen AI mean for the events industry? https://lnkd.in/eFJgsbak There is no shortage of hype around AI, with 2024 billed as the year when the first major impacts will come to mainstream business. It was heartening to see the sentiment at our recent roundtable in New York for leaders in integrated B2B, as well as events where there was a universal openness to exploiting AI. PE-backed and other leaders reported increased CapEx in 2024 to fund AI initiatives with the clear expectation strong ROI in the short term and beyond. As we highlighted with Exhibitions 3.0, winners in the events industry will be those that embrace new ways of working and use new metrics to measure performance, including predictive measures of performance and participant satisfaction. AI is the next tool in the continuing professionalisation of the events industry. It will enhance the value proposition for participants while also delivering benefits to organisers. Best placed are tech-forward and process-led organisers such as #Easyfairs, which have the same platform for every event as they test rapidly and roll out organization-wide. #eventprofs #privateequity #StephanForseilles #BarisOnay https://lnkd.in/e3swEyhA
